Good old fashioned kitchen stool like we had as kids.  If you need a kitchen stool and are sorry that you pitched your Mom's then this is for you!  Although I still need a quick step stool to reach upper cabinets, this stool is a plus in the busy kitchen area , or for  just having a cup of afternoon coffee at the counter.  I bought this and put together (easy) for when our 2 year old grandson was visiting, since he was getting a bit fed up with the idea of a high chair, this looks better in the kitchen anyway.
The chair seems solid and though it is just new I am happy and will hang on to it this time.  Yes, the steps slide back under instead of flipping like some of the old ones did.   Maybe America could continue to manufacture products like this and how we used to.   Sorry the quality seems pretty decent as well .

I need this to use for sitting while cooking as I have back problems.  It is not only an attractive stool, it is sturdy and good for reaching in high places.  You can use the stool with or without the steps.  The steps can be use alone.  I would recommend.

A Sturdy Stepstool

I have been wanting one of these for years (reminds me of the one we had when we were little)...i saw this one and it was little cheaper then most that I had seen but thought i would try it. I did not realize it came piece by piece but thank goodness it had very simple and easy to follow instructions and I completed it and it is awesome!!! Fits perfect in my decor and my space..it will be used alot and I would certainly recommend to anyone that is interested !!!

I purchased the Cosco Red Retro Chair/Step Stool for my Kitchen. It was shipped extremely fast. It arrived within 3 days. The instructions that where included were very easy to follow. It took me no time at all to assemble the chair. All you need is a Phillips Head Screw Driver. I took me longer to find where my husband keeps his screw driver than to put it together. I had it together in 20 minutes. I was worried about the quality but once I opened the box that was no longer a concern as it was of great quality. The chair is an amazing addition to my red retro Kitchen without having to go pay a lot of money for the antique ones, also I did not have to go anywhere to get it and it looks just the antique ones from when I was young. I have recieved so many compliments on the chair. I was surprised at how reasonable the price was. With that being said I was concered as to how sturdy the chair would be, but it is very sturdy. I do use the step stool part alot as I am a short lady and have high cabinets so the chair is not only just for looks but also serves a purpose.

seriously impressed with how well this was packed and the care given to make the assembly easy..it has a small profile and is perfect for my rv craft area..i thought of purchasing another another for my Great Granddaughter (3) but because of the light weight im afraid she would tip it..i will update review if i find its stable enough for her

I was somewhat disappointed with the chair.  I remember when the step part was attached, and you had to lift it up and pull out. It is harder to move around because you have to drag it across the floor to keep the step from falling out.  Overall, it does seem sturdy.

red stepstool

This is very cute and functional. I wish the steps stayed under the chair when you move it, they slide out very easily. They also don't seem like they would hold a lot of weight. I always wanted one of these for the nostalgia factor plus it's a higher seat for me as I am six feet tall. The price was great as I have seen these for the lowest price of $99.

I must admit there was more assembly required than anticipated.  However, the instructions were very clear and explicit.  Once I had it together, it is sturdy, and nice looking.  I wanted something for my laundry area in the basement that I could sit on while waiting for a load to finish.  Also needed a step stool to reach upper cabinet shelves.  I was getting tired of hauling a step ladder downstairs every time I couldn't reach high.  Now I have something that serves both purposes.  It also reminds me of a very similar chair/step stool we had in our kitchen when I was growing up.

Sturdy Stepstool

I had bought one from a friend of mine that was downsizing for my 3 year old granddaughter to sit on at the dinner table. My grandson was a little jealous that he didn't get one so we looked online and Walmart had the best deal to get it quick. It is a little more light-weight than my first one but not much. We are very pleased with it and the grandson loves it.

I shouldn't compare this stool to one built 60-70 years ago, but I have one in my garage and this one doesn't compare. I like the looks of the new one from Cosco, but the seat cushion is too thin and the mechanism that rotates the stair out front is cheap and not impressive.

This is a case where the old product outshines the new. I am thankful for the one I have, this one I don't believe will last more than a couple of years in my workshop.

Cosco Red Retro chair/step stool

My mom had one of these chairs when I was a child, that she got with trading stamps. It was a wonderful chair that lasted for years, but this one won't even sit flat on the floor.

About as cheaply made as they could make it.....
