I don't know this for a fact, but I believe these oil-filled heaters use much less electricity than the "exposed coil" kind. Once the oil heats up, it stays warm for a long time and the whole heater is sealed, so there's no chance for any kind of odor. I've had another heater of this kind for many years and never had any trouble with it.

i like the wheels on this unit much better and the cord keeper is better cause its plastic instead of metal also this unit stays cooler to the touch. I'm really happy with it

This is our Second portable oil based heater. We were So Impressed with the efficiency and versatility of the original one,  bought about 4 years ago, that we bought this one for my white decor office. It enables us to keep down the  electrical heating of  our house during winter by heating only the rooms we actually live in. 
One can assembly the legs and the rollers without ever looking at the instruction book.

Portable Oil Heater, Cost Effective

This has kept my family so warm!!! We purchased this after our old floor heater broke in the middle of the winter rainy season and this one works so much better!! Heats up the whole room in about 30 minutes!!

This is a small portable heater, which functions very effectively.  It is very safe since there is no open heated element.  It transmits heat uniformly.  Very pleased.

I would give this item 5 stars but... I got it to use in my bedroom and it does a really good job keeping the room toasty. However, I am a light sleeper and it makes a  "crack" noise occasionally which awakens me.

CRACK

Had heater on highest setting and the dog dish was 2 feet away from the heater and it still froze.  Only felt warm about 6 inches from heater.  Did not  warm  small area.  Would not buy again.

Very very disappointed in the heater. Puts out very little heat. I assumed 1500 watts would throw out more heat. Will never ever purchase anything Costway brand again.   I would return it but last time I tried to return something to Walmart store had to go through act of God to try to get it returned and still have it . Very dissatisfied

Cannot pick up by one side non grip handle, only can roll it. Heats ok just makes loud clicking noises as it heats or cools. It's definitely a dry heat so I added a humidifier to help.
