really nice! definitely for the price i got it for on sale. i did have to make my own trim piece for the top as it was not tall enough to fill my fireplace surround..but it did fit width wise..the 3 different color flame leds are a nice touch, puts out as much heat as my other 1500 watt heaters..love the remote, and the hidden pull down panel that hides all the controls..overall im very pleased with it.

Very satisfied with the Costway 28.5 Electric Embedded Insert Glass Log. It came completely assembled. It fits my fireplace opening. I measured the opening prior to purchase. Be sure to measure the opening for the depth of the insert. The remote works well. The cover of the controls on the unit must be down to see if heater is on low or high. Also check that the color of the flames is the color you want.  The instructions for assembly are vague. It took me time to figure out that the unit was already assembled and that all I needed to do was place it in the fireplace.

This is really nice for the price, It's not super realistic looking but I wasn't hoping to pull that off anyway.  It makes a pretty novelty for my old fireplace.  The human soul craves whimsy, and novelty with which to pin our memories to the wall, P. Diller 7-17-17

This is an awesome fireplace insert at a great price! It warms my family room up fairly quick, and fit into my fireplace perfectly. Love the different colors offered depending on the time of day. I have a tv installed over it and I don't have to worry about the tv getting too hot from a wood burning fireplace because the blower on this electric insert blows straight ahead. I recommend this fireplace!

Awesome fireplace!

I removed the old electric heater in our travel trailer. Small amount of cabinet work and fillers to accommodate the new heater size. I am a carpenter so I already had the tools to do the job. With a little stain and a few screws it installed easy as pie... The Wife likes it so I've done good she says. Which you know that's the best test...  :)

Well, it's a very nice fireplace. I mean I'm enjoying the different colors. 
I ordered the 28 1/2 hinge and that is a trim piece that goes around it. Your mounting bracket is quite a bit shorter so I had to shim mine out and down about 2 inches to get it to even hit the top but it wasn't a big deal. I had the material here I just did it .

We got this to install inside a diy fireplace project and was perfect . It comes in a box with styrofoam so it won't get damaged along with a remote and manual. After my husband made the fireplace he installed the electric insert and it looks awesome! It lights up and heats the living room . We have flame color on red and on level 3 of brightness. The heat level is on 5 and it warms up our living room pretty good. Overall looks and feels great and will probably buy another one for another diy fireplace in the basement.

Good price and looks realistic!

I thought the price was very reasonable but needed to fit into an electric fireplace that we already have, but the heating unit no longer works safely.  I checked their website and couldn't find a replacement so I checked Walmart online and there is was.  Once we modify this unit to fit our old fireplace, we will be satisfied and content to enjoy evenings around the fire.  Our heating bill has noticed the difference too!

the unit came damaged, there was a crack in the log so the light shows through from underneath. Tried to call the number for the company to return.  Busy signal constantly.  Finally got a rep.  She was hesitant to do a return.  Waiting for our return postage, might or might not come.

The flames have a different look than advertised. The picture in the listing shows a flame that I would consider fairly realistic to a real fire, however that option in reality is pretty much just yellow. You can switch the flame to a different color, but none of the options look like the realistic fire in the first picture in the listing. I have attached a picture.
