This is a good unit for the money. I had to get a window adapter for the exhaust through Amazon for $27 since I had vertical windows but it made it possible to use one of these units for a room over the garage which typically need more cooling. Now the room is comfortably cold. A good alternative to spending thousands of dollars.

Great way to cool off a hard to cool room

We loved the two we bought so much that we bought three more. The first two arrived before the MASSIVE heat dome hit us in the Pacific Northwest where it reached to 117 degrees at its peak.

Our home is a doublewide, 2006 Fleetwood with the vaulted ceilings and believe it or not, we were able to keep the home at 78 degrees F all that week. If we didn't have these AC units, we would NOT have been able to survive.

Costway saved my family during the heatwave!!!

I previously purchased a portable air conditioner from another retailer last year, needless to say it was a piece of junk from the moment I took it out of the box. From missing parts to it just burnt out in August so I was hesitant to make this purchase but boy I'm glad that I did. This unit blows out really cold air and I really like all the functions that it has. I'm very pleased thus far been using it for a few weeks now. I would give it a 10/10. And it was fairly easy to assemble.

i love this air conditioner, i live in a two bedroom apartment and it keeps the apartment nice and cool. it didnt make our electricity bill go up too much either basically the same cost to heat the apartment. it was very easy to set up as well. its a lot quieter than a window unit, but its a air conditioner its going to make noise people.

We replaced a different unit that had started producing way more water than could evaporate so bucket dumping was getting annoying.  This unit cools the bedroom wonderfully but the compressor is very loud.  If you are use to fans running and separate ac units running it is livable but does wake me up some during the night.  but at ~$350 its a decent choice.

Good A/C but very loud compressor

I bought this for my classroom as it was one on the list that was approved to purchase.  I am NOT pleased with it at all.  It runs from 630am to about 3pm and my room is still 83 degrees in the room by the end of the day... you can't feel the air at all unless you are literately standing in front of it about 1 foot away.

Not worth the money

Purchased this so called air conditioner last year before summer . The cold air of the conditioning didn't work at all. All I wanted was to do was to replace it with another unit. With several back and forth communications they ended up giving me a rebate of $200 (I paid the full $299 price) 
I gave an extra star because I'm the worlds greatest procrastinator and was past any warranty that I was aware of.

Do not purchase this unit.   On receipt of the unit I noticed, after unpacking,  there was a pool of what seemed to be light oil on the side of the unit and oil collecting on the floor by the unit.  Upon turning on the unit, it blew hot air.   After reading the trouble shooting instructions, I emailed Costway, the seller of the unit,  and requested either a refund of my purchase price or a replacement unit.  Costway emailed me a video with a person specking Chinese showing how to hook up the exhaust fan and not addressing the issue of hot air.   After about 8-10  emails back and forth, Costway offered to refund me 1/2 of the purchase price so that I could find a local shop to fix the unit.  Go figure.   I contacted my credit card company and requested a charge back .   I will  email Costway,   again request a mailing label to return their defective unit.  Terrible customer service and defective product.

Do not buy!!!

Nothing more than a glorified fan, it doesn't get cold we waited until the next day after installation before turning it on and I can't return it because the window kit had to be cut down to even fit inside our window I'm beyond disappointed I paid 300 for a fan

Not happy

does not work.i just installed it yesterday and it doesn't cool off at all. I can't afford to buy a new one either and it looks like it's really difficult to return.  so bummed. I was hoping I was just wrong and didn't install it correctly but based on the other one star reviews I dealt with all the same things. oily residue, not cooling at all.
