It has an opening from the back! Honestly, I read many reviews and even went to the website but I couldnt find anything regarding a bigger opening besides the small, side section.

The back opening makes it very easy to take out or put more ice packs and water. Furthermore, it helps by making maintenance a much easier and faster process. 

Make sure to dry and clean with bleach the inside to prevent any mold.

Works great for a small room. We use it in the bedroom. We have evap anyway this unit makes it  a bit cooler. We have been having highs of 119  during the day so it really helps.

I must like this product, for this is my 3rd purchase. 
This model has a very large water holding tank. I purchase  this one thinking  the water supply would last thru the night.  But the opening  to the water tub is so small that retrieving the ice is different and not large enough for placement of larger ice containers for this  large amount of water, therefore the water does not get as cold and produce the same cool  air as their  other product.

this cooler is not as powerful as they claim to be and you have to stand right in front of it just to feel a little air I have to sit in front of it most of the time just to feel coolness and I live in a Northern State I can't imagine using one of these in a Southern state so I would definitely check a different product cuz this is not what your expecting for a portable cooler to be I have a box fan that works a lot better than this.

This company is lying about how good it is.

I bought this unit for keeping our bedroom cool - it's not a great choice for that purpose. Despite being advertised as being very quiet with a “sleep mode”, the way it's designed defeats the purpose. Both of the sleep / breeze modes constantly change the fan settings from very low to medium, which is not conducive to a restful sleep in my opinion. The only alternative is to run it at the lowest fixed fan speed which works but isn't particularly quiet. (The lowest fixed speed is considerably higher and louder than the low speed in the sleep mode.) My wife hates fans and a/c - I'm always too hot in the summer- this is better than nothing but not the low noise solution I was looking for. It would be fine for a larger space where the fan noise wasn't an issue. It does have a very large water capacity which is good for a portable unit, but the tank isn't removable so it's a bit awkward to fill. Not terrible for $100… but not great either.

Too Noisy for a Bedroom

Didn't get cold at all. Comes with 2 small ice packs but I added more plus ice cubes. Icy water did not change the temperature of the air blowing out at all (you can see the condensation from the cold water in the second pic but that did not change the temp of the air). Basically it was just blowing air like a regular fan, was not worth the money.

It stopped working right after a week buttons have a mind of there own going on and off, can't press manually doesn't work I want to return but missed return deadline

This is a bad evaporator cooler I live in Arizona like no humidity so swamp coolers are best for me this thing even w the ice packs it does not get cool ever!! The swing feature does not work at all!! I have only had it for three days!!! Ugh such a rip off

Do not buy

I didn't like the fact it's probably the "old and lousy," compared to the I'm guessing "new and redesigned." It can't be cleaned as it's lacking the slide out tray for water and cleaning to prevent mold and slimy, stagnant water.  The instruction booklet I received with the cooler, I'm guessing, is for the "new and redesigned" cooler. Anyway,  Walmart made good on it. From now on,  I will only order the "sold by Walmart items.  Walmart stands by their products!
