Lifting the top can be precarious and may require assistance.

i absolutely love this top lift table.  i put it together myself took about an hour.  i.also used wood glue for the wooden dows...

This product was easy to put together.  Using it as a coffee table in the basement.  We enjoy the extra storage below as well inside the top.  This item shipped on time and get shape.  Would purchase this product in the future and recommend it.

Solid table at a good price.

It arrived earlier than expected ;-) If you follow the instructions, it was not difficult to assembly. Time consuming ? Yes, it took about 2 hours BUT it was worth it. We love the new coffee table :-)

This coffee table is of high quality.  The top lifts up and it's good for Eating or using your laptop.

eating or using your laptop.

Instructions are terrible and makes Putting it together much longer than it should be, It took me three hours. I strongly recommend that you use a power drill to drill the holes needed, and toscrew in the screws, Although it tells you not to. I have no issue with using a power drill. 


Also, near the beginning of the assembly, you're supposed to attach the black metal lifters To the Top of the coffee table. Don't do this! At the very end, you will need to attach lifters to the inside of the coffee table, and then attach the table top at the very end to the lifters. You cannot attach the lifters to the coffee table if the table top is attached to the lifters.   These are the only issues, otherwise assembly is pretty straightforward and actually the beginning is very easy.

Great quality, looks great

I really love this coffee table. Assembly was so easy. The toughest part was screwing in the top because of the angle. But it works great and looks great!

This unit was very easy to assemble because the instructions were clear.  I am a bit of a handyman at home so I was able to assemble it by myself with no problem.  Good quality and I love the way the top lifts up so I can eat and watch TV at the same time.

Money Well-Spent

This should not have been a difficult piece to put together, but the poor instructions made it so.  Also, for the price, it was not very good quality.  The brown top looks very fake and the dimensions seem smaller than what I had anticipated.

It's was such a hassle to assemble took me 2.5 hours. There's so many screws you have to put in and there's no holes in the majority of the parts so you have to make it yourself making it harder to actually screw it in. The instructions were a little confusing but if you're ok at building stuff you can figure it out on your own. At the end though I really like the table so it was worth the hassle. It came in tact and non scratched or broken so that's a plus. :)

Instructions suck but looks nice

I would seriously doubt the validity of a review that says this thing is easy to put together.
It looks nice when you're all done but it takes hours (3 if you're amazing at this stuff and 4-6 otherwise) to put together. There are tons of wood screws to put in and half of them don't even have starter holes so you have to hammer them in before screwing the rest.
I get that a table like this will be harder to put together than others but the reviews on this seriously downplay how hard it is to put together and how long it will take.

Very hard and tedious to put together.

Top/Lid wobbly and unstable. Contacted Costway 3 separate occasions over a week and half asking if I had all the parts because of the aforementioned issue. No one ever called back. Each time I called I would be told a technician would call me within 24-48 hours. At the end of the of 2nd week I asked for a refund. One of the Costway representatives offered me $40 to keep the item and asked me to wait for a technician to contact me. 
Finally, I was granted my refund and was informed to keep the desk - which I donated to Habitat for Humanity. I found a great deal on craigslist! Real wood, adjustable top/lid, stable for much less $$.
