I put this on the top and back side of my 79 Ford F150.  It just slides on the lip (very tight) and it has remained there without issue.  It has some adhesive inside the activates in the sun.  It looks like the factory chrome trim unless you walk up and really inspect it.  I think this is a great product for the price, especially considering how much real chrome costs.
