I bought this for my 26-year-old son who lives in an efficiency apartment, where it was very dry. I thought he'd get a kick out of how cute it is, and he loves it! He said that the mist streams out of the elephant's nose and he no longer gets a bloody nose from it being so dry. Problem solved!

My son woke up one night with a bad nosebleed. Living in Arizona, I have very little doubt the dry climate had something to do with that. The first thing I thought was a humidifier. I found this one on WalMart.com and the price and delivery seemed reasonable. It was at his mother's house in a few days and put into service right away. I asked him how it works and he's very pleased. He says it makes no sound and that he wakes up with better breathing generally. He also says the "steam" that comes out is not hot to the touch, which is important in a product like this aimed at young children. I have told his mother to use filtered water from the fridge since Tucson water is notoriously hard and I have little doubt it would otherwise scale up quickly. It's only ben in use a few weeks, so I can't speak to longevity, but I'm glad I bought it.

So far, so good!

Love this humidifier!!  I had one previously for many years!!  When I needed a new one, there was no question on which one to order. Highly recommend.

very cute, the steam comes out of the trunk, which is detachable for easy cleaning, it's not too heavy, and I would say it has a fairly sturdy design, definitely make sure you only use distilled water

In the winter our home is very dry. We regularly use a humidifier but ours quit. We replaced it with this fun one. My girls think it's funny that the elephant humidifier came with a name, and refer to it by its name, "Elliot". Our old humidifier would sometimes make the floor in the area wet, but this one does not. We haven't had any trouble with leaks or wet spots, and it has run constantly for the last few days. The water tank is fairly large and can run for most of the day and night with only one refill. It is quiet, making only a soothing white noise. So far, this is the best humidifier we've owned.

Cute and Functional

It's cute and you can see and feel the moisture, but even with using filtered water, the dreaded, white, sticky dust is forming on the humidifier and probably everything in the room. I will see about purchasing the additional filter.

Does the job, but produces white dust

This humidifier worked for approximately 1 hour and then quit. I contacted the distributor and followed their rather complex instructions (involved cutting off the power cord and returning it with paperwork) and sent it to their address in IL. No response or replacement yet. Hope I get a new one sometime soon. Quite a nuisance.

The first one was broken inside the box. This one doesn't work. I tried it in several plugs. The power light doesn't even light. I will be returning it.
