I read the reviews on this product before purchasing. It has performed wonderfully. I was looking for a humidifier that turned off automatically when it ran out of water, one that had a large enough reservoir to run though the night and one that was not loud or had a smell from the filter. This humidifier has performed well with all of my requirements! It has helped me greatly with my sinuses and the dry air that accompanies the winter. I would definitely recommend!

Quiet Humidifier

I have major lung issues. I have searched high and low for a humidifier/vaporizer that will produce a large volume of moisture for the day. This is it! 2+ gallons in a day! Plus this unit is silent while running. Out performs all others! Highly recommend!

BEST EVER

I love it! Our old one was very noisy and when I plugged this one in and turned it on my husband said, "It's broken." I replied, "No it's not. It is whisper silent." He said he was joking. After living with our old one for so long it was amazing how you don't hear anything from this one!

I love it!

I purchased one of these Crane teardrop humidifiers a year ago and used it all winter long. I loved it so much that I bought a second one for another room. They are GREAT! Easy to clean and pretty quiet. I have one sitting next to me on the nightstand. They really put out a lot of vapor. I followed the instructions on how to set the mist so that I don't get any white residue all over. I highly recommend this brand and this model! Thanks Crane!

Best humidifier I have ever owned!

I got this product after returning a different brand for being extremely loud. Crane is super quiet and begins working immediately- you can see it working! I wish it was a little bigger so it would last longer and not have to be refilled so often. Definitely recommend!

very good!!

First I am on a military assignment in Afghanistan where it is dry at elevation of 4900 feet. When I first arrived I had a hard time breathing, my nose was constantly stuffy and I often blew out blood when clearing my nostrals.

I always read the negative reviews first and see just how many negatives reviews in comparison to favoritable reviews. After reading the negative reviews I decided that this product was worth a try.
I've had this item for about 8 days and have used it constantly. I do not clean it daily however sometimes I do throw out the residual water that remains after the unit runs dry. besides I have no place to undertake such a task.

What I like:
1. The automatic shut off when it senses the water level needs replentishings.
2. The Green/Red LED indicator indicator telling you that you have ample water (Green) or to add water (Red)
3. Size
4. Not have to worry about filters
5. the top cap is removable and rotatable. Good feature.
6. This humidifier is adjustable so you don't have to over saturate yourself with humidity.

This little unit does a pretty good job at keeping my room and B-Hut at a comfort level for me and the guys. My nose bleeds are no more.
Would highly recommend it.

Nice little humidify

Does what is advertises without the bells and whistles. No filter which is nice. Simple clean up and set up. Good price. If you need something more heavy duty or with special features look for a better brand but if just need a simple humidifier to alleviate room dryness I recommend this one. Paid about $50 for it.

solid basic humidifier

The Cool Mist humidifier works to clear breathing as expected, but the floor and everything around the humidifier gets WET. If you set it on low-medium, the floor does not get as wet. Recommend use of a towel around it to prevent furniture and floor damage.

Provides desired results BUT wets everything

I've been using this humidifier for about 2 weeks now and I have just a few comments:
1) It uses quite a lot of water. At full output, it will go through a gallon of water in about 7 hours. Trying to run it through only a portion of the day as well as during sleeping hours requires a minimum of 2 gallons of water. Considering that it is suggested to only use distilled water (approximately $.75 - $1 a gallon), this becomes an additional cost that I hadn't really considered of anywhere between $24 and $62 per month, depending on usage. Additionally, lugging home gallon jugs of distilled water every few days is a chore.
2) The actual humidity that it adds to a room is negligible. I am using this in a bedroom that is approximately 200 square feet. I am able to track the humidity in my house via several hygrometers placed in various rooms, and the average humidity in that bedroom hovered around 30-35% before the humidifier. Running this humidifier at full output, 24-hours-day, for 3 days consecutively only raised the humidity in the room (doors closed) by about 7-8% (yet the machine consumed nearly 10 gallons of water). I have cut its usage back to only running it during sleeping hours and in that 6-8 hour period it will generally raise the humidity by only 2-3%.
3) Because this is an ultrasonic humidifier, the mist comes out cool/cold. This causes the vapor to immediately drop to the floor, and especially in the winter when warm air rises and pushes cold air down. The bedroom where I have placed the humidifier is carpeted, and the vapor immediately falls to the carpet and is absorbed there, providing minimal moisture to the actual air in the room.

Overall this is a very minimally functional humidifier that produces negligible effects. I would only recommend this in small rooms (less than 200 sq ft), and in situations that do not require a dramatic increase in humidity. Additionally I would recommend utilizing a ceiling fan or perhaps small table fan to distribute the vapor in a more uniform way.

Small rooms only, and not that great

Mist flows downward onto humidifier, water pools onto surface its placed on and also the entire unit. Electrical device on unit is in direct contact with flowing mist. Nothing good about the engineering. Would never place anywhere indoors, especially in a infant or childs room. Not safe or efficient. Potential fire or electrical shock hazard.
