This curious dub collection is a split set of work by bass-friendly remix master Scientist on the album's first half, with the second half consisting of tracks attributed to the Crazy Mad Professor. This is somewhat confusing, considering the tunes here are definitely not the work of digital dub pioneer and Massive Attack collaborator Mad Professor, but of some other entity all together. The dub mixes sound constructed in the vein of King Tubby's mesmerizing style (the dub originator under whom Scientist and other proteges learned their craft). Despite the confusing personnel listings, this lengthy collection is in line with some of the best of mid-'70s psychedelic dub, perfect for those already familiar and enamored with the deep bass and hypnotizing production of King Tubby, Lee Perry, Keith Hudson, and other champions of dub's golden days. ~ Fred Thomas
