[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have other tarot books and decks that I love, but I don't learn by passively reading. I learn by doing. I really appreciate how well written, concise and easy to read this book is. The deck is located in the back portion of the book and it follows the traditional Rider-Waite model with the Fool's story. This is also what I've been looking for because I want to have a strong knowledge base from which to pull from when I use non traditional decks in the future. 
The cards themselves are printed on the same paper as the rest of the book. it's good quality paper with a slight sheen to it and it colors well.

It is based on the Rider Waite deck.  Stiff cardboard for the tarot deck.  Gives a color guide to work with or can choose your own colors.

not best quality cardstock but nice pictures.

basic tarot

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The cardstock is thick enough to take watercolor or brusho crystal color, then color pencil on top. You could also use inktense or other watercolor pencil on your base layer. Be aware that the surface is such that I highly recommend a base layer of water based media related to when I tried to go directly to color pencil there was some difficulty getting it to lay down smoothly; I suspect the water based media gives the coloring surface a little more tooth to hold the wax. However, this is a common issue with a lot of surfaces, from coloring book pages to vellum, which is exactly why I started doing base layers before using colored pencil. If you intend to actually do readings with these I'd recommend a thin layer of laminate, which will make colors pop more as well. The booklet includes a reminder of which elements correspond to which suits, which will help with color choices. The drawings are based on the Ryder Waite version of the tarot and have just the right amount of detailing—not so little that it's difficult to render depth but not so much that you feel constrained or have too many hard lines. I can confirm that my copy included each card of both the minor arcana and the major arcana. You will have to remove the individual cards from the pages, but they are perforated. Still recommend some caution with this since you might tear the edges if not; I found it easiest to take the page out with a knife and then bend the perforations back and forth until they pretty much fell out on their own. You may desire to clean the edges up a little with a craft knife, but it wasn't bad.

I really like the idea that you can color the cards To your own preference. Only thing that I think that would have made the cards better if they were coated

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked how you can personalize your own color schemes and media for these cards. They are difficult to tear out and leaves only a third of the book left to use as reference which makes it less appealing to use. You cannot tear out the rest of the perforations in the binding. It is easy to tear the tarot cards.
