I bought the Joy because I was starting up a small business and honestly I just couldn't afford the larger machines. This little machine does not disappoint! The design space is super easy to use and the machine itself is very lightweight and easy to use. I have since upgraded to the maker 4, and now the kiddos are using the Joy. I highly recommend this machine for anyone starting out just trying to get their foot in the door or for kids! Happy crafting!

Amazing

Cricut

It's for a Christmas gift. But I have one myself and I love it. I love the size and convenience of it for smaller projects.  With limited workspace, this is the perfect choice for a Christmas gift this year for someone special.  I rated this item on my machine, though I think the one I bought this for will feel the same way too as I used mine in their presence to cut something out that they needed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] That is actually my Christmas gift to my friend. She really wants one and is really expensive. We have only settled here in Maui and are currently working as teachers. We are still paying off our huge loans and buying that for a good price did make us happy. She tested it, and it worked soooo well! Thank you for this deal. You made teachers like us very happy!

I actually started with the Maker, and then bought this little Joy package.  It has really rekindled the crafting fun for me!  I have the Joy in my classroom and the Maker in my home now, though the Joy is easily taken on trips to craft with family or friends.  And it is so cute!

Create anywhere

I used this to personalize Christmas ornaments at a craft fair, and it worked like a champ!  Very portable, easy to set up, and cut the Circuit Values Vinyl like butter.  I call it my Baby Cricut, and look forward to taking it to other events.

Great for Craft Fair

This machine is extremely basic. You cannot make custom labels. This does not have a print then cut feature. This machine can only cut or draw with a pen. You cannot design anything with a real picture.

Not what I expected

An internet connection is required to use this machine!!!  If not for this limitation I would give it 4 stars.  I'd give it five stars if I didn't have to have a monthly subscription to process pictures.  

I use this machine to make circuit board patterns to etch into copper board- something I do 2 to 4 times a year.  I think Cricut could have made this process easier but chose not to.  This is what I go through:  I draw the pattern in Excel, I then print screen and paste it into MS paint, crop and save it as a picture file, I then import into MS Word to remove the background and save again.  Next I load up a generator in the back of my truck,  haul my PC and the Cricut into town where I have a good enough cell phone connection to act as an internet hot spot, and make the cut.  It's a HUGE  inconvenience so I've only used it twice, however, it did a good job both times.   For someone like me who lives out in the sticks with no connectivity and only using this less than a half dozen times a year it's a poor solution, and one that is totally fixable if Cricut chose to.

Great if you live in town

Won't stay connected to Bluetooth.  I made two support calls and was able to connect both times but I have too unplug and replug and mess with the Bluetooth settings every time I try to connect

Died after using it ony once or twice. Contacted Cricut and they asked me to send a video, the closed the ticket after 72 hours since I didn't have time to respond. When I did send the video they just said 'the ticket is closed' 😬
