Being a paper crafter and Explore Air 2 owner I decided to upgrade into the Maker 3. What a wonderful heavy duty machine I'm totally impressed with its speed and especially the accuracy cutting small areas into cardstock for shadow boxes and intricate card making.

I was excited to get my new cricket maker 3machine after my original machine developed a problem.  After completing the sample projects, I was able to proceed with the jewellery boxes I had planned to make. The learning curvewas a little steep at first, but once I went through the instructions, I was happy with the results.  for those of you who might be miniaturist I was able to make my table favours for the Gathering taking place in Brantford in April.

EXCITING

I went from a Joy to an Explore, sold it after 1 week and bought the Maker 3. As soon as I started using the Explore, I knew I wanted more, specifically I found that the scoring of the Explore is not deep enough. I upgraded because I wanted to increase my volume. i.e. 12 flowers at a time instead of 3. More volume = repetition of folding, bending, creasing etc ... A deeper scoring helps accelerate the repetition if that makes sense. So the Maker makes sense to me and offer extended options for crafting. Super happy with it. I always have a craft in waiting.

I love love love my machine! It can do so many things and cut so many different materials. The possibilities with the cricut 3 are endless. I am continously learning through different projects. There is a lot to learn but tiktok and youtube will be your best friend to guide you through the process. I saved for 3 years before actually purchasing as it is very costly. However, so worth it - in my opinion. I would recomend doing your research and ensuring you will use the machine to its fullest capabilities otherwise maybe look at cheaper machine (the joy). Otherwise, i highly recommended!  Especially if youre going to turn into a small business!

Highly recommended

I am enjoying the quietness and the quickness of the Maker 3 but I really dislike the fact that mats catch on the drawer front and cause the red error button to flash and making one start all over with the project simply because the drawer lid does not lie flush/smooth for the mat to travel over.  I understand that one can use Smart Vinyl without a mat, but I have tons of vinyl to use up and this is a serious issue.

Major glitch

While the cricut maker 3 is faster then my maker was and still am disappointed.  First with the practice cut on the drop down menu I clicked maker 3 and it had read not recommended which was odd.  Did the cut anyway.  Then excited I started my first project. First went beautiful then after that it would not cut thru the paper (I selected the correct material I was using). For the next hour and I half was on the phone with Cricut to resolve the problem. It turn out that it was the blade!  Getting a brand new very expensive machine and then have to change the blade after just a few cuts was very disappointing!  The gentleman I was specking with said that they usually put the top of the line blades in the brand new machines and apologized saying he would send me out a new blade.  That was 3 weeks ago still have not seen it.  Reached out last week he said I would have to call again to open up another case number.  So, no I am not totally satisfied with the machine. Should be better for the price

NOT TOYALLY SATISFIED

I am not happy with the cutting of card stock with thia machine. It should be able to cut through card stock with fine point blade. Instead I need to use deep point blade. Hopefully when it comes to needing to cut harder materials this machine will be able to handle this.

Not enough pressure

I bought a “new” maker 3 and it came with scuffs. My second issue was it wouldn't let me use the machine as it said it was deactivated so I had to call. Then after two days it worked. Now I need to call again because it won't recognize my 24 inch mat. I'm using my old explore again

Disappointed

Quick swap housing works part of the time. Tried to reach out to service and got 4 emails in one day to respond with my issue. Responded after a day and have waited three days with no response. Engraving tool worked one day, didn't the next , the worked the next day. I bought the maker so I could use the extra tools and with them working spotting it makes me wonder what the extra value was really worth. 
I love Cricut and have used for years. Really disappointed.

Doesn't fully work and no response

I am very upset since I have purchased the maker three. I'm having trouble with itprinting on vinyl that is on a mat. Called in and they adjusted the tension. Went back the next day to print it just smeared everything all over the paper. I read that other people have the same problem that if we had purchased another brand that it would've worked properly with the vinyl I have leftover and the Smart vinyl and that Cricut made it this way so you will use their products only.
