Size

The piece is extremely sturdy and well made. However the actual instructions for assembly are not particularly clear and you need more than one person to help put together.  The drawer assembly ends with an extremely stable piece but it's very hard to assemble.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This same product was nearly $500 at a different store. Love the quality and look. Assembly was fairly easy. We use the shelves to store vinyl records upright and the lowest shelf for the record player. It's the perfect fit!

Looks and feels great, sturdy and classy. Easy to assemble by one person as well. Its a darker shade of brown than shown on the pictures though.

Love it

Love this bookshelf! Perfect size for my space and looks like the same exact style (albeit in a slightly darker stain, but that actually worked out better to match some other pieces I have!) as the one I originally ordered from west elm that was double the price and never showed up after almost two months. Ashley got it here in a week, with free shipping and the quality of the bookshelf seems great so far. Couldn't be happier!

Sturdy, not difficult to assemble, perfect for our space. However definitely not the highest quality, although that was expected based on price point. Several minor blemishes in the wood finish, primarily on the shelves that are composite “wood” not solid wood.

Works well for us, but not perfect

This is a beautiful piece but the drawer was extremely hard to assemble - it seemed like the holes were not aligned properly. There are also two defects in the side where you can see the seams and its pretty obvious.

Those latch things for connecting the drawer some were broken very difficult to use and come undone

While the finished product does look nice, it was awful assembling the drawer part of the unit. The switch latches all forced themselves open and I had to come up with other methods of keeping the drawer together. It barely cooperated with the sliding track to pull it out either.

Good Looks But Awful Construction

It's fine. We purchased two. The first came in good condition- the second came with a couple small ships. We don't have time to bother with a return. On the one without chips- the drawer does not run smoothly. I expect this from an old piece of furniture- but not when you purchase something brand new. You have to really force it to open. My child cannot open it independently. My husband looked at it repeatedly to ensure proper installation- it still does not open or close properly.

Looks fine- not the most functional piece.
