I've seen extremely negative reviews for this maker but for me it has been working well. If you read the manual, it states the max. amount and recommended fineness of the coffee grinds. I only make 6 cups at a time so there has been no issue with the grinds backflowing into the water chamber.
What I like - 2 brew strengths, the whole unit tucks nicely under the upper cabinet when not in use, the handle on the pot is actually comfortable for pouring, there is a disable button if the finish brewing beep isn't wanted but it's not very loud, there is a time to descale indicator but I'm hoping not to need to do that very often by using only bottled spring water in it. I've only used it for two days but the coffee has been great.
