I had a Cuisinart Food Processor for 35 years until it finally gave out. So when I went looking I only looked at Cuisinart. While I might have preferred the smaller version for size, the 5 cup one did not have the two features I use most.They are Slice and Grate, two things my blender does not do. I am thrilled with the ease of use and cleaning of my new Cuisinart Food Processor.

I used a professional Cuisinart in restaurants where I've worked.  Now retired, I was using a blender to emulsify veggies.  It didn't work very well.  The spinach and basil had to be stirred many times in order for them to emulsify.  Used the same recipe the day the food processor arrived, and voila!  Emulsification with the touch of a button!  No stirring!  I love it and wish I had gotten it sooner!

I did some searches for reviews on this product, weighed the pros and cons which enabled me to make an informed decision.  Not all reviews were "glowing"  so you have to be objective.   I took the plunge and purchased this food processor and have been having fun ever since.  Great decision on my part, I love this product!

So glad I bought this food processor

We bought this food processor one month ago and we are very, very happy that we did!  I have been using it almost every day!  I have made soups, salads, hummus, gaucamole, grated cheese and chopped walnuts. I have pureed, sliced, chopped and mixed.  This food processor has also been very useful for the preparation of the ingredients for a yummy carrot cake with cream cheese icing!  Today I chopped a variety of vegetables to make a salad.  I enjoy using this 8 Cup Food Processor to slice cucumbers, peppers, carrots and green onions, and it is great to have a ready supply of prepared vegetables in the refrigerator for the next meal. It saves so much time in the preparation of the vegetables that we are eating healthier foods on a daily basis.  It is very easy to use and I appreciate that it is so easy to clean.

Easy to Use and Easy to Clean!

I had a relatively new food processor that was driving me crazy.  Every time I used it the lid was difficult to get off and the bowl even harder to release from the body.  I finally gave up and bought the Cuisinart and am now kicking myself for not having done so sooner.  It works like a charm, is easy to use and easy to clean up.  I have other Cuisinart kitchen appliances that I have always been happy with so I should have known this would pass the test as well.  My grandmother used to tell me you get what you pay for and that is so true.

I have used the Elemental 8 Cup Food Processor for several months now, it is a time saver for chopping, slicing and shredding in meal preparation. It is very easy to clean by hand and in the dishwasher. I have only one concern, the shredding/slicing disks need a bit more support; as they tend to flex and allow items to come between the disk edge and the side of the 'bowl' and sometimes not shred or slice at all. This is just a minor nuisance but still worth having in the kitchen.

A great kitchen aid

Once I figured out that the bowl needed to click in place, not just be centered in the front, the lid easily clicked into place.  The bowl had appeared to be in proper position and I was having to force the lid very hard to lock it in place; I even watched the video online and then called the Cuisinart hotline to make sure I was doing it right because it appeared I could break it since I was pushing the lid so hard. I was nearly ready to return it because I did not want something that hard to push into place when I accidentally moved the bowl farther. Now it works like a dream and I love it!

A small issue but now I love it!

Attractive design and has adequate capacity.  Motor is powerful enough. I like the reversible discs. However, the bowl flairs at the top. This leaves about half an inch all the way around the reversible disk. I was shredding carrots and an unacceptable amount of carrot did not shred and fell off the edge of the disk. I've had many food processors  and this happens to some degree with all of them but the gap at the edge of the disk on this model really makes an unfavorable difference. On the whole though it's a nice machine

Powerful but with a design flaw

I bought this unit about 2 months ago and I love it.  It's easy to use. It's easy to clean. But I gave it a fair rating because the S Blade is already knicked and I had to order another one. I have not used the other 2 blades. I use this every single day. So I am very disappointed that S Blade needs replacing after 2 months of use.

Easy to use and clean, but blade quality is poor

I purchased this product about a month ago, with the intent of using it for chopping vegetables, slicing tomatoes, and shredding potatoes. In order to chop vegetables, the manual states that for best results you should first cut them into one inch pieces. I did that but it still did not give very good results,  I ended up with assorted sizes from big chunks to tiny pieces.Next I tried slicing tomatoes, but found that the feed tube was entirely too small, unless I cut the tomatoes down to size, then I ended up with a lot of wasted food and very small slices of tomatoes.I then moved on to shredding potatoes, and again the feed tube size came into play forcing me to cut the potatoes into fourths. The shredded potatoes came out marginally ok, but remember that I still had to use my knife and cutting board, so that just gave me more dishes to wash on top of washing all of the food processor parts. To sum things up, I am not satisfied with the results and will probably never use this food processor again. I will however continue to use my cutting board, box shredder/grater and sharp knife the old school way! Not to be entirely negative, I do have some advice for anyone considering purchasing this food processor. Find a family member, friend, or even a neighbor that has one and ask them to give you a demonstration or even let you borrow it so that you can decide for yourself. One man's trash may be your treasure! Just because this product didn't work out well for me, it may very well be just what you're looking for, if not, then you will have saved some money. Like I said in the beginning, maybe I just don't get it, it just seems like it's more work than it's worth to me.

Maybe I just don't get it.
