This is my third Cuisinart on demand coffee maker. The current version DCC-3000C is a big improvement over the original, and the latest one is identical to the second one I bought many years ago, so this design has stood the test of time. I like coffee a bit at a time rather than a full cup, so the machine sits on the end table near my recliner so I can have my coffee in the morning. This fits the bill for me. I still have the original(which we left in a condo in the US) and have worn out the first DCC3000 as I have used it daily for several years. The removable reservoir is a big improvement over the original as you had to pour the water into the body of the coffee maker, now you can remove the reservoir and see the correct water capacity. The light on dispensing is also great. The only downside is the removable reservoir is brittle plastic and if dropped will likely crack. It is also unstable as the centre of gravity is high when filled. Mine also started to leak and when I flushed the valve as instructed this no longer helped. It appeared the hoses on the inside leaked but it is VERY difficult to get the bottom plate off as the screws are tiny and recessed. I would also like to see the height of the opening for the cup slightly taller, as a tall mug does not fit without removing the drip tray. I use paper filters as I found the gold mesh left some tiny grinds in the coffee, so unless you use a very coarse grind I would not use it. It also makes good coffee and has a setting to automatically shut off, which is great. It is programmable to start on its own, but I do not use this feature. 
I also use an adjustable Cuisinart Burr grinder for my coffee, which makes it easy to get the correct amount of coffee every day. I am obviously happy with the machine as I bought another when it wore out.

Great Coffee Machine

We have had this coffee maker for at least 3 or 4 years and it still works. We live where the water is quite hard, so it is hard for us to find a coffee maker that lasts more than a year. This has surpassed that. After so many uses, it flashes a red light to remind us to clean the coffee maker and we just run vinegar through it once. We are now looking for a 2nd one for a gift.

Lasted less than a year. We have had five different styles of Cuisinart coffee maker over the past twelve years ad find they last shorter every time. Won't buy any more Cuisinart products. Last three didn't make the warranty period
