Unpopped Kernels

Value For Money

Design

Leaves unpopped kernels or ejects them prematurely during cooking.

Can be efficient, but may produce many unpopped kernels.

Requires minimal effort for simple operation.

I had to throw out 2 air poppers before I got the Cuisinart. The popcorn stopped popping properly. I think it is the inferior way they process the popping corn kernels now. Somehow they are not moist enough to pop
properly. It's a problem everywhere and no one is addressing it publically. I used Big Yellow Popcorn brand which didn't pop up with other hot air poppers most recently (due to popcorn kernel issues: I couldn't pot pop either--most didn't pop). I ordered the Cuisinart and I think it runs at a higher temperature. I got very very good results with it. Not every kernel popped but way way more than popped with the other brands and stove method. I actually ended up with a decent bowl of popcorn. I was pleased. I would recommend the Cuisinart EasyPop. If you just tip it forward on the back end with a wedge (I used a small stack of cork trivets) the popcorn goes into the bowl (which I raise up on another upside down bowl so it is closer to the funnel) and I didn't have any problem with flying popcorn kernels.

Highly Recommend EasyPop Hot Air Popcorn Maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The kernel measuring tool gives a full bowl of popped corn. The heated air quickly blows out the fully popped kernels. (The machine will be quite hot for a few minutes). We have enjoyed seasoning several batches with the recipe booklet provided. Be sure to use new (fresh) popcorn for best results.

Pop-Pop-Pop

cuisinart.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having set 2 fires using microwave popcorn and ruining 2 microwave ovens, I am very happy with the safety and relative ease the Cuisinart popcorn maker has. It is the healthiest way to make popcorn and I really like the cool down fan feature. The red color and retro type design make it pretty sharp n my kitchen. I tried several other machines, but the Cuisinart is head and shoulders above for performance and value.

Great popcorn popper

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This popper works much better than my other popcorn popper. I recently purchased this product so that I could get freshly popped corn without a moisture build up which made the popcorn chewy. However, I gave it 4 stars because I don't like the fact that this popper throws out a lot of unpopped kernels during the beginning of the process.

Fresh Popcorn

Great addition for fast and easy, healthy popcorn with the air popper. The unit is well designed and will produce 15 cups of popcorn in about 2 minutes. The only issue is that you need to tilt the unit back while popping to avoid it from blowing the kernels while popping. Aside from that, I would highly recommend this unit.

Great healthy and fast unit for a quick snack

Fully, fill included measuring cup, to minimize un-popped kernels shooting out; slightly overfilled, no problem. I surround a large kitchen pot's inside with aluminum foil - standing up around shoot; further preventing kernels missing the bowl.

EasyPop Hot Air Popcorn Maker

I like that Cuisinart Hot Air Popper makes a healthy snack with no oil or salt and very little cleanup. I had to adjust the process slightly to minimize the number of unpopped kernels ejected by tipping the front of the machine up slightly and supporting it. This makes it harder for the unpopped kernels to escape, particularly while it is warming up. With no oil to clean up I can put the machine back in the cabinet with just a quick wipedown. My Whirlypop oil popper is still the gold standard but this air popper is great for a quick, healthy snack.

Healthy Snack with Minimum Mess

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Has lots of nice features, but it shoots the popcorn kernels all over the place before any pop. Some other reviews say that might be due to the popcorn, but nothing said that “premium” popcorn kernels were the only kind that worked with this popper. It does look sharp, and the cool-down feature is a nice addition.

Positives and negatives with this popper.

I had read reviews about this product before I purchased it and wasn't sure I could trust the negative reviews. But, unfortunately, I have to agree with some of them. While I'm not totally dissatisfied with this popper, un-popped kernels do in fact shoot out of it before the popping starts. When this happens I try to toss them back into the machine. When the popping starts, some of the popcorn shoots out of the popper landing on the floor and counter. I guess there must be some sort of design floor. Other than that, the popcorn that is produced is great.

Kinda Disappointed Although Not Totally Surprised

The heat was too low and would not pop one kernel. The plastic was a cheaper quality than the one I had a few years ago. It was disappointing to see such lack of quality for Cuisinart.
