My old toaster died, so I knew I had the chore of trying to pick a new one from the multiple brands. Luckily,  I visited my friends and at breakfast, they had a stack of perfectly golden toast! I asked what toaster they used. She said they had had it 20 years and it was a Cuisinart!! I immediately ordered one on line, and now I am making perfectly golden toast too!

I purchased this toaster based on the previous model that had a similar model number.  I figured this was the u-new model number for the same older toaster and I was right.  The old one only lasted 30-40 years and new one toasts better with easy to use settings. I probably wont last as long as the new toaster LOL

Replacement of toaster

I'm glad we purchased this toaster, though I wish the selector dial felt more firm, and landed right where you want it to land. It's a bit soft, but you just have to watch where it is. Hard to know exactly what # to choose, but we're finding out what # NOT to choose. I toasted frozen waffles, chose the frozen button, and the bottom half of the waffle was really dark, the top much less so. It's a learning curve, I guess. But it has nice heft to it and cord is a good length. Overall, we're pleased.

Toasts quite well

I had to replace a ten year old toaster from a different brand. I didn't realize how bad it was until I got this Cuisinart toaster. It toasts bread evenly on both sides. Toasts just one piece of bread or and English muffin to perfection. I have no negatives to add.

Perfect toaster!

This toaster meets our needs.  Toasts evenly. I like the simple basic features. The dial to select the doneness has to be set at the maximum setting to get the results we like. Sometimes, I repeat the toasting cycle to achieve the doneness we like. I need to use tongs to get the toast out.

Toasts evenly and satisfactorily

Thru trial and tribulation, the CPT-160 toaster is not meant for toasting single pieces of bread. Unfortunately, the replacement for my original purchase was the same model with the same problems!? Only one side gets toasted and isn't uniform. Either the corners are untoasted or it's toasted in the middle of the bread. I'm sure toasting two slices of bread will have the same results, as I've switched slots... to no avail.

Cuisinart Toaster CPT-160P1

We have had several Cuisinart toasters and other Cuisinart products. This toaster is not up to our expectations based on the latter experiences. The handle is not substantial feeling and the toasting options are not clear (a bright light needed to see options). Toasting was uneven. I advise choosing a higher end toaster from this maker or another.

Toaster below our expectations

I bought this toaster to replace a 30yr old toaster that needed to be turned all the way up to toast an English muffin. Unfortunately, I have to do the same with this new toaster. Also, we have noticed that you often have to try several times to get the pull down lever to engage before it activates the heating element, plus, oncw the toaster actually decides to work, the outside gets very hot (burn risk). We should have kept the old toaster.
The only positive I have noticed is that when itis done toasting, you can ise.the lever to give an extra  boost up to male it easier to remove from the toaster.

English muffins don't toast

This is the worst toaster I have ever owned.I bought it without checking reviews  because I trusted Cuisinart,they are a very old and well respected brand.I bought this toaster based SOLELY off the brand and it has been trash since the minute I used it.It does not stay down,it does not toast the bread ,the knob moves by itself.I thought I was doing something wrong ,so I went online and saw all the reviews basically saying the same thing.I am so disappointed in Cuisinart for continuing to sell this toaster with all its reported issues ,to unsuspecting consumers like myself who have put their trust in a brand who PREVIOUSLY stood for quality.Absolutely appalled

Dont buy this toaster

Sorry, we owned an earlier version of this same model, which broke after many years.  The replacement is a cheaply made substitute for the original.  But it seems to me that you must know that.  In any case, we returned it and purchased a Breville two-slice toaster, which is a much more substantial product.
