I'm using it with a Mt. Bike and the tire was a little noisy (getting the flat one soon), I used it in my basement, I wouldn't recommend for an apartment when you have other people beneath you (when I first opened it I put it together on one of my upper floors, and the vibration on the floor was a bit noisy). But if you have a basement, its quiet enough that the people upstairs wouldn't hear it. Its about as loud as a fan (I have the mag model). Oh and as far as resistance goes, I regularly Mt. Bike and I was able to keep it at the lowest resistance and just change my gears to make it harder to pedal. Overall LOVE LOVE LOVE! Glad I chose this over gym membership!
