This switch works exactly as expected! It was either get a new router, a hub, or a switch...opted for the switch because I liked that it dedicates ports to each attached unit and not share between them. 

Works like a charm...my PS3 generally gets two bars on Vudu if I'm lucky, my PS4 gets four constantly now!!

I had purchased the ethernet switch to connect multiple devices up and to set up a LAN gaming with an additional ethernet switch. Easy to set up. Everything working great with a lag free LAN gaming and having multiple devices connected wired to the Internet, which had better results than via wifi

Works as intended and easy to set up

I purchased the switch to connect multiple computers and a WiFi router on the second story of my home. A switch is better than a hub in that it figures out where to send the data on the network and not to the devices that the data is not destined for. A bonus is that LEDs on each cable connector shows activity on each cable and the speed of the device connected to the cable, 10, 100 or 1000 megabit. Each input figures out if the cable if straight through or swapped wiring automatically. This is the second switch I have purchased in the last 6 months with never any problems. I highly recommend this product.

Plug-n-play, works great.

Cable internet installer told me that I needed a good N-router to use with my modem.
I bought this 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch 10/100/1000 Mbps. It works excellent for
providing high speed internet to my Four very high end gaming computers. I can have
family or friends playing games online on all Four computers at the same time perfectly!
My computers are running with wired connection.

Works very well with high speed cable internet.

Ethernet Switch

Bought this to run my two desktops and a smart TV while only running one cat5 line to it. I gained lots of speed and my Netflix works better than ever. I had my doubts but this works great !!!

IT WORKS GREAT !!!

I originally owned one of these switches a decade ago, and gave it to someone else to use when I went completely wireless. I loved the switch then, and I still love it now! With a number of components requiring an ethernet connection (Printer, some component from DirecTV, a 3G Mircocell) I found myself once again in need of a switch. I went to my local electronics retail store, who wanted to charge me $80+tax for a different brand, which only supported 10/100. After that wasted trip, I logged into Walmart and saw this switch...and was almost instantly brought back to the last time I bought it (half wishing I didn't give it away so many years ago), and for under $50 no less!

This little box just works. Open the box, plug in power, plug in ethernet cables in and your off! It's really that easy! The one thing I would caution anyone in the market for an ethernet switch about is that while there are 5 physical ports, one port needs to be used as the "uplink" to your router, so at the end of the day, you can add 4 additional devices connected via ethernet. It's like that on most 5, 8, and 12 port switches, so if you need to plug in 5 extra devices, then you need to buy a slightly larger switch, as one of the 5 ports will need to be used to uplink.

Perfect for a small or home office

Not much to be disappointed with this product.
Simple switch connections, just plug in the unit to AC power, and then connect the LAN cables. Ready to go in seconds. Hard wiring is always superior to Wi-Fi connections.
Run one cable to the unit and then connect five devices for an instant network.
In my case it's two computers, Vizio Smart TV, PS3, and a printer. Up and running as fast as the cables snapped into place.

Does the job.

Works like a charm. Took it out of the box, plugged in all the devices, gave it some power and bam, off it went. Good deal for the price and very easy setup.

Does exactly as advertised.

Replaced a former 10/100mbit Netgear hub to upgrade to gigabit network. In short, this device is unusable on my home network due to random drops between multiple computers, requiring that I restart the switch to restore connectivity to all machines.

Apparently, it is incompatible with a number of network cards brands, a few of which I have in my network (2 RelTek 1gb low-end cards & 1 high-end Intel 1gb onboard on a Dell Precision). I've used it for 2 weeks and identified this device as the cause of my disappearing machines that make my network-based backups to fail.

I found that certain product lines in Netgear have these same problem patterns. I've owned many Netgear products including hubs, a few unmanaged switches, and 3 business grade 16 port VPN routers. It's not for lack of trying Netgear products that I will stay away from them nor is it lack of experience as a 15yr professional software developer. I'm going to try the D-Link DGS-1008G next because it has consistently high customer reviews across many web sites. I may just need to go with a business grade HP Procurve if the low end D-Link doesn't work.
