I previously owned a mandoline which was the kind where you used the holder to slide the food item you were slicing, and you'd slide the food back and forth over the blade. I loved being able to slice perfectly even slices so quickly. But I only ever did one thing with it, slices, because you had to change blades, and it was just too complicated. It worked for what I needed to do. But last fall, I was going too fast and not using the guard, and I sliced off part of my little finger. I used it a couple of times after that, but then I saw this Dash Safe Slice Mandoline, and I had to have it. It's truly awesome! My fingers don't get near the blades, and I can change the way I cut my food with a turn of the dial and/or rotating the knobs. I've never in my life made homemade french fries, and now I've done it with my Dash Safe Slice Mandoline so easily and so fast! It has a bit of a learning curve on how to get the food cut the way you want it, but it can slice, julienne, dice, etc., and it's one of the biggest helps in the kitchen I have ever had. I love mine, and I highly recommend it!

Awesome Mandoline

I haven't used it for anything other than slicing zucchini.  It works great and there is no way you can accidentally slice your fingers.  I used the sprayer on my sink to wash it because I hadn't read the care instructions.  It was easy to clean, but you can put it in the top rack of your dishwasher.

Very Safe Mandoline

I bought this after slicing my thumb badly with a different mandoline.  My daughter has this one and recommended I purchase it.  It is so very easy to use!  And the safety factor is a major plus!  I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone.  The one thing it not do is slice long strips...like from an eggplant for layering..

Great Kitchen Accessory

I love how easy and fast it is to use. It's safe and stable enough to let my 8 year old grandson use of course with my supervision. I also like how it collapses for easy storage.

Easy, safe, & convenient

I love this thing! It makes quick work of chopping/dicing every veggie & potatoes. It is not at all complicated as other reviewers suggest. Cleanup is a breeze! Look forward to having help in the kitchen to prep real food meals.

Amazing help in the kitchen!

I absolutely love the Dash SafeSlice Mandolin! I actually got it by mistake years ago, but it quickly became my favorite slicer. After about a year, it broke, and I tried buying other brands, but none of them worked as well. Finally, I remembered the Dash brand and ordered another one—and I'm so glad I did! It's efficient, easy to use, and makes slicing so much easier. I really recommend it to everyone!

I purchased this after researching mandolines far and near & was worried about knicking my fingers. This eliminates that problem & slices up everything so quickly! I also love that there isn't a piece left at the end so you can utilize all of what you're chopping up. love it.

The Best Mandoline!

I have never owned a mandolin slicer because I find them to be too dangerous. This solves that problem and still does a great job! I love it for slicing potatoes and quick prep. My daughter loves to help out and I feel safe letting her help me.  I decided to try this product after researching it compared to the Pampered Chef version and I'm very glad that I did.

Mandolin slicer

I didn't like it. It is very well made, but I did not like using it. I bought it so I wouldn't cut myself using the mandolin I currently have. I tried slicing onions and shredding carrots. The carrots came out ok, but it didn't work very well on the onions. There's no way to get ring slices. I really thought I was going to love this, but I returned it
