I use this saw mainly for trim, this saw features good battery life, good ergonomics and it's quite a light saw for moving around unit to unit cutting baseboard/casing. When paired with a 60 tooth blade this saw will never let you down and will make a nice even cut every time, some things I wish this saw featured would probably be a dual bevel and a brighter light, and maybe a nice rubber grip for extra precision and comfort, overall this is another excellent bang for your buck tool that will surprise you on just how handy it is

Excellent for trim work

This little saw is great for framing and trim. It will cut up to 2x6 and is perfect for trim. The saw paired with the compact miter saw stand w/ arms is awesome and you won't be disappointed with either of them and the stand is as impressive as the saw. I use them almost constantly.

Great Portable Saw

I have been using the 12" corded double compound Dewalt saw for over 15 years in my remodeling and dreaded lugging that saw in for a small remodel job - I bought this saw about a month ago and used it for a second story bath remodel and could not be happier! It is as solid as it's big brother and makes clean, fast cuts. I really like the LED light that comes on when making the cut as the job site was not very well lit. Not really sure about the dust bag collection as I had the bag upside down but even with that, I had the saw sitting on a sheet on the new tile floor and the sawdust was pretty much contained within a 4' area in front of and around the saw. The miter detents and detent override lock button were spot on and easy to use. The only thing that would make this saw better is if it was a double compound. I would highly recommend this saw!!

Great baby saw to the 12" saw!

Fits easily on the back seat of my truck.  Easy to move up and down stairs.  I tried cutting wet pressure treated 2x4 with a fresh battery.  It did, and the cut was fine, but you could tell it would rather be cutting 5/4 trim.  It's met my expectations.  I tried the Kobalt 7 1/4 sliding miter saw from Lowes and took it back the same day.  Slide was terrible and abrupt.  This one slides pretty smooth.  Not glass, but it's a pretty even force you feel you're pushing against.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had this saw imported from America to Scotland and absolutely love it, the angle lock on the American version sold it for me as it is so accurate and precise! The saw is light weight and easy to set up. The light features on the blade make for precision cuts also. Really enjoying using this saw on the jobsite and love how portable it is. I run this saw on 5ah and also the 6ah flexvolt and get very good run time, love the saw

Excellent saw for starting

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this saw for both home improvement and commercial carpentry jobs over the last year and I haven't found a job it can't do. It cuts smoother than my big 12” dewalt miter saw and the battery power allows me to take it anywhere, even where I can't get an outlet. The 20v battery is great and a 5aH gives me plenty of work time. I do prefer to apply the 60v battery to this tool when I can. It just helps get me through the job, but it isn't a necessity. I've found the best part of this (and most other dewalt tools) is the ease of adjustment for the fences, positive stops...etc. if anything is slightly off from being packaged and shipped, it usually only takes a few minutes to make it all perfectly aligned.

Really useful for all kinds of carpentry and home

Awesome portable saw ! Great for most jobs ! Compact and pretty light , the slide on it is smooth ! Paired with a diablo blade this saw can do pretty much anything except for huge cuts but for most jobs this is all ya need !

I went back and forth deciding to purchase this one. Pulled the trigger and used it in the same day. The saw makes great cuts but the cordless factor is the deal maker. Let's face it, the most annoying part of working on anything is having to set up/adjust etc. This saw is so easily portable it's a pleasure to work with. Limited to 2X, but in that arena is excellent. Get one

Awesome saw, super convenient

Love the portability and convenience of not dragging out long electric cords.
Did not rate 5 star because there is no miter detent over ride. You must push in miter detent with thumb and hold  to make minor adjustment of degrees. Thumb gets sore after doing this many times a day and can be difficult to just slightly adjust 90 degree cut

Great non electric portability

I recently purchased this saw from a big box store. I really needed something for the small stuff that I just really don't feel like taking out my Festool Kapax on my best fence stand, because this stand is a beast. I also should note that I have a vast verity of Makita 18v tools but found that the cost of their similar saw was just outrageous for a small battery powered saw. With that I set my eyes on this little guy and the Milwaukee that is similar. I settled on this saw because first its the best in class price, and two well its the best in class price. I just really don't feel like the investment for a small saw, that I wont be using full time should be outrageous.

Upon opening the box the saw is fully assembled and comes with a table hold down, dust bag, charger and 4.0ah battery. I was happy it also came with a 40 tooth blade

The saw came with a 2 bar charge so I let it charge full and then took it out and a small cabinet job and gave er a go. I have many guys as well as friends that use the 12'' Dewalt saws and I have to admit tho my Festool is far superior I'm totally jealous of the shadow line. Lasers suck and the shadow line just works incredibly well. Very cool feature. 

I took a piece of red oak hardwood flooring and did some test cuts. The first cut I was impressed, the blade did spin fast enough and didn't burn the wood, it also had no issue going thru the dense oak. Then cuts both ways on a 45, good cuts and perfect 45. Now the bevel......This saw only bevels one way. I don't find this a issue at all but may be a issue for a novice that cant cut backwards and upside down. When I cut the oak on a 45 bevel the saw didn't cut square so I tried again with a plung cut and then again with the bevel slide, same result every time. I guess it could be possible I got a bad saw, but I don't think so. One of my crews has this same saw and I will try the same thing on it, somewhere down the line. I don't plan on using this saw for much, toe kicks, scribe, and I even ran a little quarter round with it today. 

Overall Ithink this saw will become a staple in my arsenal of tools. The convenience factor is absolutely worth the small investment. I even think I'll be buying a few more for my other trucks. Over all great saw, has plenty of power for small jobs. I just wish it would cut square on a bevel.

I bought this tool with in five minutes of using it thought it was the worst tool ever made by dewalt and I'm a Big dewalt fan what a letdown
