[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used a DeWalt angled finish nailer for over 5 years now.  It is a great tool and allows me to position the work with one hand and fasten it with one pull of the trigger.  My nailer is 18 volt and used an 18v battery.  DeWalt came out with an 18 to 20 volt adapter and now that is in permanent use on my nailer.  DeWalt tools are great and rugged.  I have 11 of the 18V tools and a number of the 20v.  You will not be sorry chosing DeWalt.

Awesome finish nailer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this for a few months now and I use it every day I also have the 18 gauge finish nailer. The best tools I bought in a long time. I am a finish carpenter and hang interior and exterior doors and trim work for a living

No hoses!!!!!!!

I just purchased this nailer and the 18 ga Brad gun yesterday. I don't know why I waited, because today I walked into the job grabbed my new guns and started cutting and nailing base, doors and crown, my work partner pulled out his compressor and nail guns hoses and power strip in which  time I had a rooms worth of base done. Pro quality product

I thought about this decision for a year

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a few months back and let me tell you I'm not sure how I've made it this long with out one.  I do a lot of door installations and of course door trim. Dragging an air compressor with me is such a hassle when you are only going to use one maybe two racks of nails total.  I figure if it takes longer to get your tools out than the amount of time you are actually gonna use it then it's really not worth it.  With this cordless tool it has cut installation time almost in half.  No more dragging out a compressor or air hose then having to pick everything up when you are done.  We use it on baseboards and window trim no more having to move compressor from room to room no more extension cords on new construction when you don't have power everywhere yet.  The convenience is priceless! I'll never go back to air again. Can't wait to buy and use the framing version on my next addition!

Super convenient

DeWalt "FN" style nails are not the angled nails to use in this gun.  The angle is slightly different and does not fit the nail gun properly.  Thus creating many rejects. DeWalt 34 deg for DA style nail guns are required for this gun. This is not explained in the manual. (Or if I missed it, it isn't clearly pointed out in the manual.)

Proper nails to use

Works well for the most part. I cannot get it to work in sequential mode. I have the selector on the 3 nail setting but it will not bump fire. I cannot figure it out. Please help.  I am also having the same problem with 18 gauge nailer. 

Otherwise it has good features.  Easy to clear jambs. Sets nails well. Easy to see where placing nail. Light works ok. I would rather see light in nose area. Handle is comfortable. Belt hook nice.

Great nail gun but...

Doesn't work for hardwood flooring. 3/4 Hickory won't even penetrate through to the other side.
Can't sink the nail into 5/4 MDF either.
Lacks power, I even tried a 5ah battery, it didn't help.

I am a senior remodeler in retirement but still taking on small jobs.  Several weeks ago my 20 YO orange "gas and battery operated" finisher nailer died I decided to replace it with one of the new "battery only" models.  As a rabid DeWalt owner, I purchased the DCN650D1 finish nailer. I wanted it because it would allow me to use my inventory of batteries purchased with my 25+ other DeWalt 20V tools. My excitement of adding to my collection was quickly replaced by disillusion when 2 of the first 5 nails jammed and the other 3 were left 1/4 to 3/4 above the surface of the board.  I adjusted the nail depth to the deepest setting and then shot 40 - 2" nails into a an aged 2x4 yellow pine board.  This simulated nailing a door casing to framing.  Jamming reduced to only 6 of the 40 driven but all of the nails were left standing above the board surface as previously described.  Fortunately, there is a DeWalt authorized repair center near me.  I took the new tool to them and after inspection was told the tool was performing as designed.  Needless to say I was very disappointed.  Today, sadly, I returned the tool for refund.  I take extreme care of my tools and in the 20 years I owned my previous finish nailer and the hundreds of boxes of nails it drove, I can only recall 10 or less jams and about the same with the number of nails that were not driven flush.  My standards of expectation for the DNC650D1 were set by it's predecessor.  Thanks, Disillusioned Rabid DeWalt Owner
