Recently used this reciprocating saw to cut back some bushes and trees on my mother's property. Pairs with some Diablo blade, this saw made relatively short work of it.

Though not top of the line or brushless, this little saw has a lot of heart and will keep going as long as you need it to. It was keeping up with my buddy's Makita just fine.

I regretted not buying this saw DCS380B since it came out, if you own a home this saw is a must, it is very versatile saw, pruning palms, limbing and cutting trees and doing house repairs that required cutting or plunging cut.  It is an all around saw!   Cordless is the only way to go when pruning palm trees.  Excellent saw!

Excellent saw

I bought this for Christmas. So far I have pruned a tree and replaced some stairs with it. I find it very easy to handle. The 4 position blade system is amazing. Really helped me with the odd angles I had to get in with the stairs. Didn't even get held up on the old thick iron/steel nails in groups. I look forward to using it on a future plumbing project. My suggestions are to buy decent blades and a battery 3 amp or larger.

It does what I need it to. Very versitile.

I've been disappointed by cordless recip. saws in the past, but this one surprised me. It eats through batteries quick, even a 4 amp, but it cuts fast and smooth.

Surprisingly powerful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this saw while on sale (tool only) and I have used it multiple times. It is incredibly powerful and the batteries last a surprisingly long time. I used it to demolish and old deck and chicken coup and it made quick work of cutting through the planks and 4x4s.

Powerful

I used this saw on a project cleaning up fallen timber, the gas powered chain saw was failing me so I hooked up my 6ah 60v battery to this guy and WOW!  The amount of cutting I did with this thing was borderline abuse for its purpose, but it kept up with everything I brought to its' teeth.  4 drained batteries later, a lot of cut timber and this guy saved my afternoon by finishing the job!

Excellent Durability

My wife bought me this saw as a gift about two years ago and it's one of my favorite tools. I use it to cut just about anything, it's my go to saw for any rough cutting jobs.

I've used this reciprocating saw on everything you can imagine, even cutting down trees.  Works awesome.  Cuts anything as long as you've got the right blades.

HOOAH!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One day I accidentally ran the saw over.. yes.. I ran the saw over. I carved out the top part of a  DWST24070 tool box and made Sawzall case out of it. I put all my tools behind my truck when I was packing up for the day, I thought I loaded everything up in the toolbox. I was wrong, I started to reverse and my windows were down I start to hear crushing noise. I pull forward and get out and take a look.. the box was crushed my Sawzall wasnt harmed. Luckily I didn't drive over the Box anymore than I did, but still DeWalt tough!

HOMEOWNER USE DIVIDED EVENLY BETWEEN 2 IDENTICAL DEWALT  RECIPROCATING SAWS THAT WERE REALLY IMPRESSING ME BEFORE THE FIRST ONE FELL APPART! THESE SAWS ARE DANGEROUSLY POWERFULL BY ABOUT 3X TOO MUCH BY MY ESTIMATION.  IF ALL THAT OVERLY EXCESSIVE POWER COULD BE REDUCED AND TRANSLATED INTO 3X MORE RUNTIME AND A BETTER TOOL BODY THAT WAS UPGRADED TO BE AT LEAST AS DURABLE AS PLAYSCHOOL OR FISHER PRICE CHILDREN'S TOYS, THEN I BELIEVE IT WOULD BE BETTER THAN IT CURRENTLY IS.  NOT PLEASED WITH MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH DEWALT CORDLESS TOOLS SO FAR, SADLY!  I HAVE HAD EXCEPTIONAL LUCK WITH ALL OF THE DEWALT A.C. POWERED CORDED TOOLS THAT I HAVE USED AND OWNED PREVIOUSLY.  SAD TO SEE THAT THEIR CORDLESS TOOLS ARE NOT UP TO THE USUALL DEWALT LEVEL OF QUALITY THAT I HAVE COME TO EXPECT BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE WITH THEIR CORDED TOOLS.

JUST MIGHT BE THE VERY WORST CORDLESS TOOL I HAVE!
