Like other reviewers, the release levers failed and makes it dangerous or impossible to mount or dismount the saw from the stand, and they don't sell replacement parts, you have to buy the entire bracket as a pair if one fails.  Love the saw, hate these plastic failure points.

we have had stand for a while about two years we take every good care of it but even with the best of care the lock and release mechanism fall apart and make it every hard to release saw from the stand and the worst part about it is you have to replace the whole bracket that mounts the saw to the table not just the locking parts those are not sold separately so you have to spend 40 bucks to fix a 5 dollar problem

weak plastic parts

I bought this so I can use two mitre saws on my DWX725 stand. It worked great initially but the plastic mechanism to lock and unlock the mounting bracket became loose on one end after a few uses.the mechanism also protrudes a bit under the bracket surface and I find it snags to the table ledge when I want to put the  saw on a regular table. I think the plastic locking mechanism is this bracket's sole weak point. If it's designed better this would be a 5 star product.

Great idea but has some notable issues

Brand New, one day old and first time removing saw from stand the steel spring shattered in bracket lever.  See Picture.  Now I need to make some sort of make shift spring so I can get this to work.  Discarded box so can't return.

Broke first time using

These brackets are junk. With everyone having issues with them why hasn't Dewalt had a recall and designed something that doesn't break after the first use. I'm not buying anymore and resorted to using a nail set to unlock the bracket so I can put the saw on and off the stand. Not an easy task at my age with a 60 lb. saw to balance.

These brackets need to be redesigned to last

The spring inside the clamp snapped after 5 uses.  I've sworn off Dewalt for years due to lack of user friendly tools and survivability through use.  Finally decided to go with the "Flagship" miter saw with the Cadillac stand.  I must admit, Dewalt has improved their saws considerably.  HOWEVER, the brackets to hold the saw to the stand are exactly what I was afraid of....JUNK!  It boggles my mind how a company can make such a descent item such as the DWS780, and make such a worthless tool to help us use it.  I would have no problem recommending the saw.  But the stand brackets, you can't pay me to rate these anything above a Zero.  One would think that after so may complaints Dewalt would offer to replace the broken parts with something improved and that would last.  For the listed reasons, I will stick to my Milwaukee's and Makita's.

Piece Of Junk!

I have gone through 3 sets of mounting brackets now. They are great (just like the other reviews claim) until the plastic gets loose and then kaboom... you are off to buy new mounts. Dewalt needs to get rid of the plastic and add aluminium or steel latches.

Great stand. Horrible plastic parts

Little used over the past 18 months The first plastic clamp broke within a month. Bodged it with some wire. Now the 2nd clamp seized and could not be operated and then broke. Incredibly poor design and quality. I have to buy 2 brand new mounts.....i think not. Why can i just not buy the plastic clamps for a couple of $

DEWALT - Miter Saw Stand Tool Mounting Brackets

I bought the stand with my miter saw.  First one clip broke and eventually the second clip.  I generally love my Dewalt tools, but this is a terrible design.  Whoever thought of putting that much pressure on a plastic piece really failed at their job.  Now I find all of these reviews to see everyone feels the same way.  Dewalt please do something for your customers.

Cheap brackets

Well, it's a pretty slick system that they made for theses brackets to be easy to attach and release the saw from the stand.  That being said, it's about the only actual positive here.   The parts for the release lever are complex, fragile (all plastic), and IRREPLACEABLE.   So if you break your bracket or it does it on it's own, you better go straight to the store and buy another...    I would recommend finding a different stand and mounting system before this if at all possible.  DeWalt should really have an engineering team build a beefier version of this good concept, or at the very least, OFFER REPLACEMENT PARTS!

Lots of room for improvement

I found aftermarket clips for these brackets and they work awesome.  Fixmystand
