I have been using tools for over 20 years and This is the most powerful grinder I have ever used in my life. I have been using this grinder professionally and at home. You can work all day if you have a few 6.0 ah batteries and a way to charge them. The battery life is great on this tool. If you are on the fence about this grinder then do yourself a favor and go for it I guarantee you will not regret it!

Cuts like butter

Best grinder ever made an i own 4 Corded grinders In different brands,and they are no match against this grinder.

Just woooow

Very solid grinder with power to spare even with 6'' wheels. I highly reccomend the 3/9ah battery or bigger cause it is power hungry. The brake works great too. Even outperforms my flexvolt advantage grinder! Buy it now, thank Dewalt later.

The best never rest!

This grinder has saved the day many times for me. I work on valves in industrial plants that sometimes require me pulling old ones out of line. The studs in a lot of those valves are often old and rusted up. Also they tend to be 5/8 up to 1 1/4 studs. Instead of wasting time fighting them with a wrench I just slice thru them with this grinder. The anti kick back feature is really nice when using the grinder in tight spots. The flex volt battery provides plenty of charge to get the job completed. Highly recommend this tool

Absolute time saver

I wanted a cordless grinder with enough power for grinding off rusty heads, cutting rebar, sharpening mower blades and other cutting needs.  This seems to fit the bill so far. Not sure that it spins the discs at 9000 rpm.  Does not seem that fast with a fully charged 60V-6ah battery, but it is fast.  Only surprise was that a 20V battery will not fit in the unit.  I have several other flexvolt tools that accommodate 60V and 20V in a pinch.  This unit is 60V only.  Have not yet tried with 6 inch discs.

good tool

Dewalt

I have had two of these in the past 3 years

The good: Very powerful. Flies through wood with a flap sanding disk. Great for metal cut off. Great for grinding floors with a diamond cup.The toolless Quick-change nut is genius. I have had no problem with the battery. 

The bad: Should be variable speed. Its too powerful a lot of the time. And that would help to save battery. The tool is ideal for intermittent use (cutting metal) but burns through a battery in about 12-15 minutes of continuous use (sanding). 

The ugly:
First one failed in about 5 months.Received a replacement from the good guys at Dewalt. Thanks. However, ~2 3/4 years later the new one failed. I use it seldom; still looks quite new. Its not the battery as that works in the 60v chainsaw.

Need a grinder but not sure whether to get it again. Its amazing but ...  Fool me thrice, shame on me.

Standout power, Remarkable tech, Failed twice

I purchased the kit with 2 Flex Volt batteries. Two batteries are a must because you'll need one ready to go when the one onboard runs out of juice... One of the batteries is working great, the other will no longer take a charge. It shows 1 bar (1 light) but when I put it on the charger the "pack charged" light comes on but the battery won't charge. Frustrating because now I just have the one battery meaning every 30 minutes I have to find another task to do while the battery recharges. Frustrating the spend this kind of money and have less than great performance after just a few months.

Great Grinder, Questionable Batteries

Honestly, the most disappointing tool I've purchased in the last decade or so. Love the grinders, amazing power, great ergonomics. Writing this review while I'm in the field, as I had another battery Fail. This will be the third in roughly 3 years occasional use, 2 x 9ah and one 6ah dead. My truck is already full of Red tools, looks like I will need a couple grinders that color as well. Been using m18 for 10+ years with ZERO battery failures short of a cracked case. It seems the electronics in the flex volt are not up to the rigors of mobile repair. Glad it happened today as I was considering buying more batteries this week. Good riddance.
