This is the second corded random orbital sander I have purchased and am totally pleased. While the ease of attaching sanding disks and it's price are great, the true benefit to me is the ease in using this sander. No great effort is required and the result is wonderfully smooth. As a older hobbyist ease of use is very important. Best DeWalt product I own.

Love this sander. Does exactly what I need it to. Feels great in the hand. Vibration isnt as bad as other orbital Sanders. Definitely recommend. Hoping to try out the xr orbital sander down the road.

Awesome sander

This is a awesome sander. I put this sander to the test. I redid the exterior of my wood shake home. Completely stripping the loose paint off of my home, after pressure washing/scraping I needed to sand every piece of shake. That's where this beast came in. I used this sander everyday for 3 months on each and every piece of shake. This sander is durable, powerful, and built to last.

Perfect size

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old random orbit sander gave up on me and I was under a deadline to get some stairs done before we could sell the house. I ran out and just grabbed the DeWalt because, I mean, how bad could it be? It's hard to go wrong buying DeWalt. Anyway the more I use it the more I enjoy sanding. My old sander, in retrospect, was worse than useless. This one with a couple of grit changes can put a beautiful finish on every piece I've worked on. What a revelation that a sander can deliver such amazing results quickly and efficiently.

Love sanding now

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sander is one of the best I have used. It keeps the vibrations to a minimum and when equipped with a vacuum then it does a great job at picking up dust.

My biggest complaint is that the dust port has a proprietary attachment which makes it hard to connect a hole unless you have the DeWalt vacuum system. I had to buy some rubber tubing to connect it to my vacuum.

I've been using this random orbit sander for the last year and a half on various different projects and surfaces.  It's very reliable and has done a great job. Unfortunately, I wish I had purchased the cordless version.  The cord just gets in the way.  Also, I had to buy the Dewalt adapter to attach to my vacuum and it's a little tough to sand while that is connected (it creates a long stiff tail off the back of the sander).  Would be nice if there was a more flexible option.

I purchased the DWE6423 5 months ago and I loved it. Today it began intermittently slowing down and now it won't even turn on. I generally love DeWalt tools, but not this sander

Electrical Problem (?)

I just purchased Sep 30 2025 it is now January 14 2026 and have had zero luck trying to connect this to one of my shop vacs ! I have to wander why it needs to be this way ! I have purchased every conceivable plumbing reducer fitting and even a DWV9120 adaptor from Dewalt ! I own many Dewalt tools but this experience has truly tainted the love affair ! All I want to do is have a good connection to my shop vac !

Impossible vacuum Attachment

I should have looked at the reviews before I purchased this Orbital Sander.  I have had this for 2 months and the sander pad is falling apart.  Have only used the sander for approximately 4 hrs in that time frame.  This is very disappointing as I am a huge fan of DeWalt.  All of my power tools are DeWalt.
