I had to replace my $400+ radio ,the AM reception was terrible to say the least.(I won't be mean to name the brand) i can't say enough about the Sangean.The reception is great,the sound is very good ,the FM - you have to play a little to get the sound you want(bass - treble) but pretty good.the remote is very useful because we listen in bed mostly at nite.The walnut cover is a hair lighter than we like <I may stain it a little darker.You will not go wrong buying this Radio.Belive me.

Great quality Radio

Bought this radio for my husband. He has radios everywhere even in the crawl space for when he works done there. He really loves the sound and performance. Good value.

This radio is a nice, compact, stylish radio! Great sound! May not have the blue-tooth capability, however, easy enough to just plug in the iPhone using an aux cord.

Great value

Many features as tone adjustments, prefix stations, antenna for FM, variety of alarm sets. Quality is evident. Wood cabinet attractive. Not too large for bedside table. Remote a handy feature. Good instruction booklet.

Great radio & sound.

Had been considering a Bose but didn't want to pay that much for music. The sound and quality is
excellent and the cost considerably lower than a Bose. I would recommend to anyone!

Great Radio for the Money

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sounds is great and it's pretty. 
But I bought it hoping to pick up digital substations, which it does not seem to do, so I'm back to using the aux cable with the public radio app. 
I love that it has a nap setting and alarm, but they are not terribly intuitive. I pushed the button that made the bell symbol on the alarm go away, but the alarm still went off until I unplugged and reset it. 
I don't really need a second radio, but didn't feel like returning it.

The first thing I noticed is the radio is finished in yellow pine, not a rich walnut color which I would have preferred. The quality is great though and I like clean sound. The display is disappointing as there is no contrast adjustment so the digital face is difficult for me to read. The dimmer adjusts the background only. I read the instructions carefully and did not have any issues setting up the alarm system. I'm sure I'll get used to the button arrangements and become better at utilizing the many additional features this radio has.

Pine not Walnut

It is a neat radio. The FM works well, but the AM is the poorest that I have ever owner. I live in a rural area. The nearest station is a 500 watt about 6 miles away; next is a 1000 watt station 10 miles away and last is a 5000 watt station about 11 miles away. The 5000 watt station comes in sometimes and the other two do not at all. I tried a loop of wire for the external AM antenna and that did not help. But I did not buy it for the AM.

The viewing display was difficult to see, and the manual of instructions was long and tedious.
