Cheap design and it is not a sturdy sofa. Anyone with a heavy set should not buy this sofa. It will break apart on you. It also requires assembly. It is not safe to buy products like this online. I advise you to go to a local furniture store so you get the feel of the product before you purchase it. Online you'll never know what you're going to get.

Cheap design. Not very sturdy.

Bought this couch a year ago and have found it to be pretty cheap in quality.  If you sit on it how any normal person would sit on a couch you're likely to have the sides bend out of shape and the hinges on the back not work correctly (forcing you to lean it against a wall to hold it up) it's also not very comfortable at all when it's to be used as a couch.  You're better off laying on the floor most times.  Sitting for a couple hours is a tough task.  The price also seems to have gone up a bit adding just another reason not to purchase this cheaply made couch.  On the plus side, it does have a decent look to it, and in futon form I have been able to sleep on it successfully.

Save your money for the thrift store

Was excited to receive this on quick delivery but soon discovered after opening the box and checking through out that the feet and the hardware package was missing. I have called the company that makes the sofa as well as Walmart but it has been a few days and have heard nothing back from them. I'm going to have to call again i am guessing.

Couch

terrible, came with parts missing, box ripped, flimsy material, does not put together well, would not hold an 80 lb child, will never purchase this again, will have Walmart pick this up and give me credit as I do not drive and am disabled and can not bring it back to the store myself. This should only be sold for children.

sleeper sofa

Like others that have one starred this item, I took a leap of faith. Unfortunately, I didn't read the reviews and now wish I had. Box was damaged and I should have denied it right then and there. Mattress portion had a tear in the faux leather. It came packed with two left arms and missing installation hardware.

If I could give it no stars

I bought this couch two years ago. Within the first couple of months one arm broke. A few months later the right side hinge broke and you could only sit on the left side since the back won't support weight there. Then one of the middle supportive legs snapped. If you want to dump a few hundreds bucks on something that you will soon throw away- this one is a winner.

If disposable furniture is needed this is it.

My review is mostly towards the customer service.

The couch itself is nice. The color is rich, the seat is comfortable, and I would have been happy with it if it didn't come to me completely damaged.

First off, I paid an extra $40 to get this shipped to my apartment. It got here a week later than it should have and when the delivery guy gets here, he calls and tells me he's not allowed to bring the couch to my apartment door and he is only allowed to leave it at the front of the building. I paid extra to prevent myself from having to haul this giant 100-pound box to my door because I'm 5'2 and live alone. The box would probably kill me if I tried to do it. So now I threw away $40 bucks to have to haul it myself. Great start.

Second, once I managed to get it into my apartment and open the box, the seat was ripped when it arrived and the bar that goes on the bottom of the couch was created incorrectly. I don't know who saw it and thought "Nah, it'll be okay to send" and shipped it out. It really makes no sense.

Third, I wanted to order replacement parts. There's a form online that sounds simple, but the seat piece has no product number. So I tried calling dhp about 5 different times. Put on hold each time then told to leave a message. I emailed them instead. Thankfully they answered quickly. They asked for pictures and the info. I sent them everything - simple enough.

Last but not least, dhp offered me a full refund. Great! The catch is I have to cut out a 20x20 piece of the couch because god forbid I get to keep an already damaged couch at their expense. That's not happening. My other option? Return it to walmart. Awesome - now I have to somehow get this giant box in my car and haul it to walmart for a return - the thing I was trying to avoid in the first place.

This entire process was a nightmare and in the end, I still have no couch.

Nice couch, horrible service

I have purchased this sofa for it's price knowing that the quality won't be that high as it would be used occasionally in our guest room. But it was a bad purchase on many levels.
First of all it took very long time to get it delivered as Walmart used an unknown contractor and I needed to call them several times to setup a delivery appointment. Then on the day of the delivery, a man showed up alone and left the huge box at the building door because he said "Walmart is not paying them enough to deliver it to my house/or apartment" despite the fact that I had to pay a shipping surcharge for this item! I live on the 3rd floor and I am disabled (have only one arm) so I had to struggle for a good hour to pull and push the unwieldy box that weighs upward of 100 pounds up the narrow stairs to my apartment!!!
Then, when I opened the box I saw that part of the cushion at the visible front side was already ripped. I checked the box and there was no hole so I am assuming that the sofa was packed with the 2"in by 2"in tear on it.
The construction of the sofa is very flimsy especially the rear vertical wood frame is already making cracking noises when you take the sofa out of the box. Also the leg that you attach to that part is attached with one screw and it moves even if you screw it tight. The arm rests are 2 inched wide and look like they came out of a cartoon. The 4 legs of the sofa are all made of thin plastic and they are hollow. They look like they can't last too long but we'll see.
The frame is made of weak wood and the underside of the sofa is covered with a thin layer of fabric that is randomly stapled to the frame. they used a very limited number of staples and it starts coming of the moment you unpack the box.
All in all, I would definitely not recommend this product to anyone. Pay a hundred dollars more and you'd get a better sofa.

BAD EXPERIENCE OVERALL

I bought this for my office as an extra place for guests to crash and so the kids had a place to sit while I was working, and as a place to read. It's survived two toddlers, two moves, and has lived for three years in our main front room in the new house as a bed for our 130lb saint bernard/ great dane mix.

It's not terribly comfortable for sleeping on, and unless you're a small person you wont have space (I'm 5' 7" and my feet have no where to go), but it's fantastic as an accent piece. We put a mattress pad on it for sleeping, kids love it for sleep overs. It became the dog bed because the dog was man sized and no place else sold a cushion for a creature as big as a small horse. Because its fake leather is wipes clean and there's no major crevasses for things to hide in. And the fabric has held up much better than I expected with giant dog claws on it. Just this year the leather-ness of it has worn off in areas and the fabric below is visible. But it has held together all this time, nothing's broken, there's no tears or rips.... And it was cheaper when i bought it. I only invested 190 bucks at the time.

All in all- if you're a single person on a budget, a parent with kids, or owner of an enormous dog, it's a great buy. it is NOT suitable for full time sofa use, don't mistake it for that. It's a really fancy good looking futon.
