I donated the 8-year-old Upright Dirt Devil and got this amazingly more useful hand-held Dirt Devil! It cleans like a cyclone. It's my new toy!

Amazing Little Vacuum

It's very powerful.  I'll never worry about the battery dying or going bad.

Great product!

I mean that in the most positive way. This little vacuum has powerful suction a cordless vacuum can't touch. For many years, I lugged my full size vacuum to the driveway to vacuum the cars and I was tired of it. I thought I'd try this corded handheld to take care of all the stuff your shoes track into the car. It worked great. It's lightweight and maneuverable. The easy on/off extension hose can double as a crevice tool and all the hard to reach places every car has. The big disadvantage to this handheld is the cord but that is also it's advantage. This thing has power precisely because it has a cord and, in my opinion, that suction is well worth being tethered by a cord.

I have only had it a short time but am impressed with the power on upholstery. I bought it for cleaning my car so I am disappointed with the difficulty of doing the floor in the car. It seems using the hose cuts the suction but perhaps I need to keep trying. I do love it for upholstery and I am pleased with the warranty.

Powerful, great for upholstery

I've tried nearly every hand vacuum on the market, and only one has enough power and suction to do every job, the Dirt Devil Scorpion. That expensive cordless one made by that British designer who popularized the bagless vacuum and cyclone technology can't hold a candle to the Scorpion. I bought one of those British ones six years ago, and it broke in five days. I returned it for another, and that one broke in five hours. That says a lot about the lack of quality. The Scorpion I had before this one lasted me 15 years without a single problem. It has a very long cord, several attachments, is dirt simple to clean (all puns intended), is handsome, and works nearly forever. What more could you possibly want?

The most powerful hand vac on the market.

Works like a charm. I had an old Black and Decker that plugged into the lighter socket that I thought was good, but this Dirt Devil is great. Note that it doesn't plug into the lighter socket - but that's OK since I'm always in the driveway near a plug when cleaning the car. The quick flip nose works super and there is a ton of suction this unit. The flex hose also gets into those tough to get at places under seats etc.

Great Car Vac

Use this to clean up scattered litter around the cat litter box. Has so much more power than the old one I was using. Haven't cleaned it out yet so can't judge the ease of doing that. The corded model is less convenient than the one without one but if it provides better suction that it's OK.

I wanted a hand vac with a cord so I didn't have to buy batteries and because I'd read that they had better suction that the battery kind, but I thought the cord would either retract or have something you could wrap it around when you stored the vac. The cable is very long and heavy and there is no way to put it out of the way when you are finished using the vac. The vac is also VERY loud (much louder than my big floor vac) and the nozzle looks like it could break easily. It does have powerful suction and was inexpensive, so I guess the lesson is "you get what you pay for".

I.was so excited to find this corded, bagless vacuum as I had already purchased and returned 2 rechargeable units. I used it once and found it to be noisy. It also heated up and then I noticed an odor of something burning. I was so disappointed and have given up on trying to find a great handheld. This had great reviews and the unit may have been defective but after 3 tries with 3 different Dirt Devil units I will just continue to use my full size vac.
