I bought 1 about 2 years ago. I have just bought a second one.

I'm a Locksmith and highly recommend this jig.

My daughter's house was built in the 1950s and the doors already had crude clearance holes right where the pilot bit needed to go. This jig enabled me to position the outside of the hole aligned with the latch hole on eight doors for repeated, clean, perfectly located holes.

Answer to a retrofit conundrum

Cut two holes that needed to be enlarged from 1 1/2" to 2 1/8" to fit new deadbolt and made the job real easy. I can see where the bushings may need to be replaced as they do show a bit of wear. Used a 1" steel rod where the deadbolt was to centre the unit worked perfectly. Also used a C clamp to prevent the unit from coming off the door.
Altogether a great tool

NEED TO BE ABLE TO BUY SPARE BUSHINGS

I have used this item several times on both wood and metal doors. Simple to use and accurate. The only drawback is not able to mark the hole location for the bolt.

Easy to use

The only problem that I find is the insert (black) they get warn out, and apparently you cant replace them so you have to buy the complete tool.

Great Tool

I bought this tool hoping it would make life easier while I change out 5 or 6 doors in my house.  I used it last night. I get that the big bit has to be unscrewed for the smaller one to fit.  But after sawing the hole, the thing from the heat of use, fused in such a way, I can't get the thing apart to use the smaller sized threaded thingy in the small hole saw.  I have tried everything!!! Helllllllllllllllp!  I want to move on.... I can't get off this one door because the tool "sticks"  what to do?

Stuck

Bought this product to update a couple of older solid wood doors

Needs redesign or access to replacement bushings

Overall did it do the job - Yes! 
It saved me time and probably a lot of frustration at the end of the day. 

I purchased the door lock installation kit yesterday. I needed to enlarge the opening for a new deadbolt. I was able to line up the tool, drill the hole and enlarge the opening.

FYI - You have to be very careful as the saw drill can jam up as your boring through the door and kick back unexpectedly. 
You want to make sure you pause while drilling so you don't overheat / jam up the guide. (many reviewers commented on this). 
I did not have this issue however I did notice a lot of wear on the inside of the guide where the drill saw is inserted. 
Make sure you do not go all the way through the door as the saw teeth can cut away at the clamp holding it in place (maybe a little WD40 next time).
- The option to set different door thicknesses (2) can be useful.  

Instructions on using the tool are hidden inside a flap on the label - not the greatest placement or very helpful.

To Dewalt's product & marketing team update your instructions ... "please see the instructions that came with the lockset" .... are you seriously telling users to check the lockset instructions on how to use your product?

Handy tool-Needs some more tweaking to be perfect!

This tool is supposed to cut holes at 2 3/8 or 2 3/4 centered. The 2 3/4 is actually 2 11/16 so it's not accurate. I had a hard time fitting the handle. I do not receommend this product

Acuracy

Bought it, used once a couple days after, couldn't even install a single door lock, pieces got jammed together after the first hole, there's nothing to do, I now have to buy another kit (a different one).
