[Employee of walmartcanada] This product is great. You can keep it the fridge and it will not be so hard that you cannot spread it on bread. It taste good and not too salty. Whenever it goes on sale I buy a few extra.

Becel Plant Butter

What can I say, butter is butter.

I haven't used butter in over a decade, and I decided to buy it because I missed the buttery taste in mashed potatoes.

I can't believe it's butter..................

The item was smashed in one part despite apparently being sealed

this contains 55% palm oil.....yes it's a 'plant', but so terribly unhealthy, and the biggest reason our rainforests are being destroyed !

unhealthy

My butter was not good packing all the butter was open and garbage

My butter was open and melt all not good packing

So very sad. Do the planet a favour & ditch the palm oil! Yes, everyone knows it's preferred for all products that want things to last forever, whether on the shelf or in the fridge. And everyone who avoids it (me) knows it's obtained from trees in the Amazon rainforest. Which are destroyed, and all the biodiversity that goes with it. I freeze real butter when I buy extra. You could with this too if you want to buy in bulk. I stopped buying Vegan Becel in the tub when I realized it contained palm oil. Was so hoping this product wouldn't have it. NOT.

No Go- Palm Oil

becel.ca

Unfortunate that over 50% of your plant butter is palm oils. There are other more sustainable oils you could use for your spreads without harming animals. Glad to see it's not dairy, but please go a step further or be more sustainable in your palm sourcing (if that is even possible)

Palm oil harms the environment and orangutans

Is there not a law that prohibits the name 'butter' for any product that is not!? It's yellow margarine in bulk, worse for your health than real butter. Heated vegetable oils are highly oxidizing to the digestive system. Saturated fats are essential for the absorption of several vitamins and minerals!! It is wrong to stop hunting saturated fats and no longer hesitate to use them!

Butter!! Illegal name in Canada

I would not consider a product that uses palm oil, a product that contributes to the destruction of rainforest and specifically orangutan habitat, truly vegan. They may not directly be using animal products, but they certainly do not do anything to help animals. Hard pass.

Vegan product?

I'm trying to cut back on baking with butter so thought I'd try the Becel brick. I made butter tart squares and used the Becel (1/2 cup) for the crust. It was horrible - tasted like oil that had gone rancid. Threw out the baking and what was left of the Becel brick. Will never buy this stuff again. What a waste of money! Very disappointed ☹️
