Now I want one at home too! The only thing I didn't like was the users manual. It was a little vague in parts and it doesn't tell me what to do when the machine is full. Shut it off, unplug it, or what? It keeps making noise like it's trying to make ice if I don't unplug it.

I really like how easy this is to operate. It produces ice quickly which is a big plus. The only issue I have with it is that it is a bit noisy while operating. Other than that I think it is a good value.

Works fast!

I bought this for my basement bar, it works great. Ice in about 8 minutes. If the ice melts it just falls into reservoir and gets put back through into ice again

Bought this to replace a broken ice maker I'd had for years. Didn't realise how bad the old one was until I used this one. Makes ice quickly and relatively quietly. A good buy

All the ice we need

It is really a nice machine. It takes some time to make the ice and you are constantly empting out the ice into plastic ziplocks bags. It really does take a full day or two to make 50 pounds of ice. I use bottle water or my water from the RO system that is in my house. The ice taste better.

Danby - Ice Maker

I read that it could produce, but that it also could not keep ice cold. Ice melts and redistributes for making new ice.

One thing though... It states that it's good for picnics, etc. (Outdoor activity.) Yet, when I received the ice-maker it indicated that it was "NOT for outdoor use." It doesn't matter to me, but may matter to someone else.

I like it for making ice while I wait for my ice-making fridge to be installed.

Knew it couldn't keep ice cold...

I would have a positive review, except for the fact that once the ice cubes melt, it tastes like plastic. We have run it through twice with vinegar water, but it still tastes like plastic. We are hoping that this taste will wear away. When we ordered this, we read the previous reviews - I am surprised no one else complained about this. Will be getting out the manual and may be contacting the company who made this ice maker to find out what we can do about this. We may give an update later...

too soon to tell

This is my third Danby ice maker . The first two were the defective white models.
This one is damaged out of the box. There is a dent that's hard to see in the picture but the drain is loose, broken. There is no damage to the box. It is obviously factory damage.

Frustrated

Even when the ice bin is full, It does not stop making ice. It has caused the elements to freeze up.The ice has a funny taste. I am probably going to return it.

Not a good ice maker.
