This is our second Danby dehumidifier.  The first lasted an incredible 11 years of continuous low temp use.  The units are quiet, have great features especially low temp operation for New England basements.  Would recommend to others and buy another if we needed one.

Goodfew months

Worked great for 12 months. Very efficient to lower the humidity for entire basement(1600 sq ft). Not sure what happen it stop extracting water over night. Just found that the product is warranty for 24 months. I will send it to an approve service center for repair under warranty.

50/50 Very efficient dehumidifier. Reliability to be prooven

Work well just a little past the warranty time after that it begins to frost and just stop deshumudifiing. I did contact the support. Encouraging in the beginning, they ask me to perform a serie of tests which i did with no change. The machine was not reparable at a resonable cost. They offered me something if i buy anothe Danby deshumidifier but when i ask how much the communication just stopped.

Good at first but............doesn't last

About a year after purchasing it, it now immediately frost after 3-4 minutes of usage. The filter is clean, the fan works, the environment is clean. Also it's kind of impossible to open to check the problem. Once the screws removed the plastic covers are clipped to one another and impossible to unclip. Did not last long for the price paid... what a rip-off

I can't seem to get 3 summers out of my Dandy units. That's the only season I use them. I thought my first unit was just bad luck after it stopped working on the 3rd summer. I bought another to replace it and same scenario. I got he ddr050blbdb model the last time and the same thing happened.. It quit the end of last summer. It was purchased 07/2020. They work so well when they work but the quality control or manufacturing pride just isn't there. They say a dehumidifier should last 5 to 10 years. I'm guessing the lower number for heavy use scenarios. Mine was light use. Maybe 10 hours a day if the humidity was high that day during the summer only. I'm disapointed. Such nice units when the work but they don't last.

I'm Danby's bad luck guy.

Our dehumidifier iced up and stopped working after one year.  Danby replaced under warranty.  Then the second unit stopped working after 1 year.    We only run it in the summer for about 4 months.  As there is no warranty on the replacement unit we now have to buy another one.  
It won't be a Danby product.  Seems like other reviews describe same experience.
