Danby AC 5000 BTU

Cool

I have to empty a huge heavy container twice a day full of water.  Asked for a hose and they told me to use a garden hose. My arctic king has (that never needs draining) came with one luckily. If I knew it was going to be like this everyday I would have returned it.

I don't recommend if you live in humid weather

I am usually a fan of Danby.  This unit disappointed me.  While it does cool, it does not have the option to keep the fan going.  It shuts off once it hits the temperature programmed.  For some of us, noise keeps us asleep, and when it turns off, we wake up.  For $399, this unit is super cheap quality.  The remote is not working with it either.  Will be returning.

Don't waste your money

Decent little AC unit, however they should either not include a remote or not advertise it as having one.. when the one included does not work..at all.. 50% of other reviews I have read on this unit, all complain if exact same issue.. Danby may want to look into this..

Works very well. A little hard to put together but it was manageable.  We ordered 3 units and one of them had a broken wheel in the box. I tried to get service through the Walmart Chat but it wasn't working out. We still need to have the wheel replaced.

Danby 7500 BTU Portable AC

I am not satisfied with this service. I would like to return the unopened portable AC, but you do not accept returns for any items over $250. This policy should have been clearly communicated to all customers before purchase.

Now, Danby is asking me to return the item to their location in Guelph, which will cost me a lot. This is unfair and not an appropriate way to handle customer service.

Bad service

This unit requires a permanent drain hose, even on AC mode. Otherwise, it shuts off after an hour. It is not appropriate for a home where the windows are up high, unless you can put it onto a platform.
