It works well. It is intended for vertically closing window, but you can make it work With horizontal sliding windows that you would have to customize Yourself for this type of installation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm renting a duplex apartment that is 736-750 sq ft and it came with an ac unit in the living room that was weird lol and not kick in the hottest  conditions. So we took that old, dirty unit out and put in this one I ordered. Lol I was really questioning if this ac would kick to my bedroom that's in the back and it surpassed my expectations. Now it says it would cool a room that's 150 sq ft but don't sleep on this unit it kicks lol it was a great buy

AC is compact but effective for a great price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The air was cool but it often started a high pitch squealing that was very annoying. I made sure the filter was kept clean so I don't know why it did this.

Worked well but noisy.

Just got this installed the other day in my 194 square foot living room. It's ok, not great. Probably better suited for my bedroom. Installation was easy and it's no louder than the rest. I had a feeling it wouldn't be enough BTU's but at the sale price of $139 it was worth trying.

Good for a small room

I needed a second small window air-conditioner. I picked Danby as I have a few items from this brand and are happy with them.  We even have a Danby portable air conditioner and it works great. This one however is: MEGA loud (even on lower setting) compared to our other window one. But the worst part is that it doesn't really cool as much(!). Compared to our other small one (5000BTU as well) - it gives maybe HALF of the cool air than the other one (I won't mention the name out of courtesy). What happened Danby? You used to be one of my favorite brands! It took us quite a bit of time to mount it inside our window opening and then we have run it at different settings and... before we know it it is past return date and frankly removing it from the window is such a chore! So unfair! 
Unfortunately I would not recommend this air conditioner to anyone. I hope Danby will improve.

Do not waste your time on this one....

I bought this product online from Walmart and went to pick it up in-store a week later. When we were installing it we found giants cracks in the styrofoam that acts as the insulation of the unit. We do not feel the AC cools the upstairs anywhere near like past ACs we owned. I am unsatisfied with my purchase and will reconsider when buying from Walmart online again.

Not a good purchase

Air conditioner arrived on time and without issue. The air conditioner itself however, is a different story. We unpackaged it and geared it up in the window. We took the packing and papers to the burn barrel and that was the biggest mistake because the air conditioner did not work properly. You can hear the compressor kick in but it does not cool the room effectively, is very loud and goes from fast to slow all on its own. 
This is not a Walmart issue but a Danny issue. They agreed to return and refund but we unfortunately got rid of the original packaging. 🤷‍♀️
