Excellent unit, I have had other units from other brands and this one is much better in functionality and quality for this price. Quiet, well build and has all the air quality indicators needed. Does not have an app to monitor, but not required in my case.

Really great Air Purifier!

This air purifier is top.notch.  We absolutely love it. It has quite a few bells & whistles.

Our daughter purchased one of these Air Purifiers a month ago.  Within 4 hours of setting it up in their basement, and plugging it in, they could notice that the air "seemed fresher".  I have springtime allergies (pollen, mold, dust) that usually bring sneezing and itchy eyes, and also noted that my symptoms were moderated when I entered the air purified space - so I purchased a unit this week, and similarly experience a "fresher air" environment.  This unit is also very quiet and we appreciate the "child lock-out" feature as we have a granddaughter who likes to push buttons.  All round, an excellent product.

Excellent quality and Quiet operating Air Purifier

We really like this Air Purifier (it's the first one we've ever purchased). It seems that some of us can sleep better, too, (or at least after the wildfires). The machine looks very nice, can cover a wide spatial range, and is very quiet (even when Sleep Mode is not on). The setup process is very clear and easy. 

The manual is clear and concise; however, we think it is too concise for sections on VOCs and PM2.5 Molecules. It doesn't really explain what they are or, in particular, what the numbers on the machine signify. For example, the display might show the numbers "4", "6", or "3", but we have no idea what they represent aside from them being a VOC or PM2.5 "level". The manual doesn't explain at all. Is "4" supposed to be a "good" level? We don't know. We contacted Danby, and they promptly responded to our other questions but not this one. 

The pre-filter can be cleaned easily. However, the HEPA/charcoal filters seem very costly and require two quantities (one for each side) + shipping + tax. I appreciate that the manual explicitly says where the filter model can be purchased. I do wonder why there are two online Danby Stores, though, with difference prices for the same filter model. Also, it would be helpful if the filter's product page on both websites provided a description (e.g., that this purifier would require two quantities of filters to prevent people from paying shipping twice if they assumed one quantity was enough).

Overall, great air purifier. We really like it!

I found it very easy to set up the purifier.  It appears to be well constructed and is very quiet when set at the lowest fan speed.  Aesthetically it can be used in any room of your residence.

AIR PURIFIER DAP290BAW

Simple to use, light weight, almost silent in most common scenarios(with low fan speed), and appears to be able to clean there air fairly quickly. After a few weeks I feel it's a pretty good product overall.


One thing that confuses me is the scale it uses to classify air as "clean", "fair", or "poor". I believe at 65 μg/m³ the unit will describe the air as "clean". However, after looking at multiple other online sources, I'm not sure how accurate that description is. For example, 


Second, I think it's a misleading that the FAQ on this page currently states "Most of Danby's air purifiers have reusable filters". The manual on the other hand clearly states: "When the True HEPA filter progress bar turns red, the filters should be replaced."

Cleans air, but some aspects of marketing and product are confusing.

I don't have that much experience about the product, so I'm not sure about the long-term performance. Overall the product looks just like the picture and looks good so far.
