I live in a 100 yr old house - and this is the best way I've found to fill in various gaps around the house . Some of my gaps are huge - between the ceiling and the narrow molding  they used back then - and this fills them up.  Once it's painted you'd never know.

Easy to work with. No cracks when it dries. Can use overhead without sagging. While you can sand it when dry, you can also smooth with a damp sponge (like a grouting sponge) when partially dry, eliminating sanding dust. Sorry it is no longer available most places in town any more. Also, it is no longer available in quarts.

Shrinks much less than other brands and doesn't crack, you rarely need to recoat for shrinking unless the hole is larger than a nickel. I have used several fillers and patch products in the past and this is far superior, its easy to work with and very forgiving. I would purchase again and recommend it to anyone needing to fill holes or cracks in any type of paintable wall.

Best filling spackle out there!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have yet to try filling large gaps, but minimal shrinkage when applied to the shallow holes. It dried smooth, and did not crack. It is much better compared with other sparkling product I have used. Makes job easier.

Better than expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being the do-it-yourselfer that I am, I was more than happy to jump into some new projects when mom asked me to come over and do some repair work on her condo. One problem area is the master bedroom and a crack in one of the corners of the room that just won't go away with just paint. I was really looking forward to putting Alex Flex Flexible Spackling to the test. First, I cleaned the area well, making sure to scrape off all the cracking paint and debris. I was very impressed at how easy this product was to use and apply to the crack. I had to use more than one layer because the crack was fairly deep. It did take quite a while to dry, probably because of living in the south and having a higher humidity. I started in the early morning and was finished with the spackling, sanding, and painting by late afternoon. The clean up was very minimal and after everything was applied and dried, it looked as good as if a professional did the job. I definitely would use Alex Flex on any future spackling jobs that come up without hesitation. It's easy to use and the finished product looks very professional.

Easy To Use With A Professional Look

I used this spackling and was very surprised with its performance. It was very easy to apply and the drying time was very quick. The finished product was really smooth and easy to paint over. I plan on using this product again and would definitely buy and recommend it to friends and family.

DAP hits a homer with another great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had a reoccurring crack above one of my doorways for years. I decided to give Alex Flex Spackle a shot at it and since then my problem has been solved. I was slightly hesitant about the product but it truly applies just like regular spacke and sands down the same way as well. I highly recommend this product.

Great product that solves a longstanding problem. Cracks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I manage several rental homes and one constant is after a move-out there is always work to be done, even with the best of tenants. A common repair is covering all the holes left by tenant wall hangings - some small and some can be rather large. When I received the sample of DAP Alex Flex Spackling, I put it to use on my current move-out projects and it worked better than the previous spackle I've been using. It adheres well, finishes smoothly and takes paint well so when finished, the walls look great. I've already used up my sample pint and made a bulk purchase of a case of the larger 32 oz size which is more economical if you use a lot of spackle like I do. It's definitely a new favorite for me and my work crew and we've already recommended it to some neighbors working on their own projects.

A must for property management

It took a little longer to dry than I expected and wasn't as easy to sand, but all in all, it's doing the job it's supposed to do.
