Darice Hoops hold your fabric tight when quilting, beading, embroidering, cross stitching, needle point, or appliqueing. Embroidery Wood 4"- A wood hoop is ideal to hold fabric and achieve even tension on all sides. The hoop has metal " L" brackets with a brass screw for tighten, which allows you to work with any fabric thickness you desire. The hoop is lightweight and has a sanded smooth finish.

I misjudged the size I needed, but my project I am working on still fits. The canvas is thicker than most crossstitch canvases and the hoop still holds it in place.

I purchased these hoops for framing small cross stitch pieces. I previously used bamboo hoops, which are nearly white and don't take wood stain well; I wanted something a little darker in color. 

These hoops are made from 1/8 inch wood laminate formed into a tube and then cut into rings. The cut edges are rough and there were voids in the glue used to laminate the sheets of wood. I sanded the edges so they wouldn't snag my fabric and used satin braid around the framed piece to cover the voids in the cut edge of the laminate. 

I wouldn't buy these again. They're quite flimsy and more expensive than the bamboo hoops.
