Dark Knight Blu-ray Disc -  To say that Christopher Nolan's THE DARK KNIGHT is the best comic book adaptation does the film a bit of a disservice. It may be a Batman film, but this isn't a kid-friendly action movie full of the bams and pows of the original series. This is a pitch-black thriller with enough drama and tragedy to please even William Shakespeare, but it will certainly keep both comics fans and uninitiated audiences equally happy. THE DARK KNIGHT starts in the wake of BATMAN BEGINS: with the appearance of Batman (Christian Bale), Gotham City's criminal underworld is unnerved. They're also plagued by the new D.A., Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), who, in his quest for justice, remains above the city's corruption. Enter a new villain, the Joker (Heath Ledger), who wants to unite the criminals for a common purpose: to kill Batman.<br /> <br /> THE DARK KNIGHT is one of the most hyped movies to date, and a lesser film would be crushed under the weight of all that expectation. Some of the publicity stems from the early death of Ledger, who turns in an excellent performance. He provides moments of humor, but this Joker is terrifying, sharing more with classic villains such as Hannibal Lechter than with his comic book predecessors. Eckhart is equally good as Dent, and Maggie Gyllenhaal deserves praise for taking over the role of Rachel Dawes from Katie Holmes. Though there's more emphasis on plot and character development than in most comic book adaptations, that doesn't mean Nolan has skimped on any of the action sequences. Each set piece is done perfectly, leaving the audience breathless. THE DARK KNIGHT is filmmaking at its best; its subject matter may be dark and depressing, but it's tough not to feel exhilarated by its artistry when the credits begin to roll. <br />

I think that "The Dark Knight" was an amazing and exciting Batman film and it was also one of my favorite Batman films of all-time.  I really enjoyed all of the action, mystery, suspense and personal drama that kept this film very entertaining and enjoyable.  I also think that this film had a really great cast, plot and storylines as well.

The Greatest Batman movie off all time!

This is a good Blu-Ray purchase. I highly recommend to watch it with Dolby True HD. For this you will need a Dolby True HD capable receiver but it is worth it. The highway underground chase scene with the armored truck is truely comes to life with the blu-ray version.

Great Movie

I have seen the movie in theaters but at home, with surround sound, it is so much better! Love the fact that the Blu-Ray movies come with a digital copy so I just open iTunes, load it into my computer, enter the password provided to "unlock" the copy, and it downloads as a movie. I then put it on my iPhone! The graphics are amazing! You should definitely buy!

Awesome on Blu-Ray!

This Blu ray of the Dark Knight is awesome. It is just as good on blu ray as it was in the digital cinemas. TDK is the best movie of the year and one of the best movies of the past decade. Right up there with The Lord of The Rings. The Blu ray version is spectacular. Video and audio quality get a 10 out of ten. Special features are good but not great.

Truly Incredible Five Stars

Everyone knows that this is one of the best action movie of 2008. You can watch it over and over again and still want more. So what does blu-ray brings to this movie. Well it gets you the closest possible experience of this movie as presented in an IMAX theatre. Assuming you have a blu-ray player and a 16X9 (Widescreen) HDTV and 5.1 Tru surround sound, you can get that experience. The Blu-Ray features the scenes shot in IMAX cameras in their original Wider format. So what does that mean. Well when you are watching the movie, the scenes not shot with IMAX have black bars on the top and bottom of your screen because 35mm is a smaller frame. But when a scene is shot in IMAX it seemlessly goes wider and covers the whole screen. Not just that, the extra detail and vibrant colors of IMAX, broader view and its quality is clearly visible.

This BluRay might be a few more bucks than the regular DVD but with all the bonus features (2 Blu-Rays), plus a digital copy DVD, its worth all the money for whoever owns a bluray player and an HDTV, and 5.1 tru surround system is a plus if you want the full experience.

Great Blu-Ray

I bought this a few days before Christmas and I was guaranteed for it to be at my house (free shipping by the way) by Christmas Eve. Well... it got here a day before Christmas Eve! So I'm even happy with the shipping because I feel that I was their number one concern. Thanks Walmart. Now... "The Dark Knight" is an amazing movie (we all know that) but let me tell you this: Blu-ray takes it to a whole other level! Buy it!

"The Dark Knight" on Blu-ray= :)

First of all, I want to say that the experience ordering online and receiving the product from WalMart was first rate. A satisfying experience. As far as the Dark Knight is concerned, it's an excellent movie. I had heard so many glowing reviews before I saw it, there was certainly a risk of me having ultra high expectations, then being disappointed. But I was not disappointed. It's a fine movie, whether you're a Batman fan or not. And yes, what you've probably heard about Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker is true - excellent! This is only one of three BluRay movies I have so far. I'm new to that technology. The detail is incredible - some scenes are like 3D. Get this movie. And ordering online from WalMart was easy and delivery was as promised. Very good.

The Best Batman Yet?

I have a 52" 120hz Sony XBR and it looks amazing!!! My only wish is that i had a receiver that could handle Linear PCM sound, bc the dobly digital 5.1 is good, but im sure the Linear PCM ("trueHD 5.1") would be way better. This movie is great!

Awesome

When I  Receiving this blu ray movies, the package was breaking and still have paper break  stickers  top the package,  this Blu ray movie package was   Bad , I  order many time   Blu ray movies, only this I get  very bad package ,

if you go online and BUY...THIS MOVIE WITH THIS COVER...!!!! You get the movie that for SURE but not THIS MOVIE Like the PHOTO SHOW you get the another one without the COVER, this isn't my first buy at WAL-Mart page...!!!! I have bought a lot things at WAL-MART.com and sometime i get my stuff very FAST, even before the ten days period, but this time It TOOK a LONG TIME so can receive it and when i finally GOT IT the box was all beat up.... GREAT MOVIE BUT BAD SHIPPING..!!!
