Water

Easy to operate, very compact and gives excellent coffee

Simple and efficient operation

We bought this to machine a few weeks ago to replace an older De'Longhi that was no longer working, and I really like the features this machine has. The water reservoir makes it simple to make a bunch of shots of espresso in a row and it takes NO TIME to heat the water and make a delicious latte! The machine itself is super simple to use and I love that the parts are easy to remove and clean!

Loving the delonghi so much

It's a nice espresso machine but is not excellent. I'd like to have the same make and model of the one I had and is very old but it doesn't exist anymore.

I bought this espresso maker to replace an old broken unit that served me well for more than 15 years. Small footprint but makes good espresso.

Good espresso maker

I lived the feature that you can keep the coffee flowing to match whatever cup size I want. However, it ends up producing a coffee thats not super hot. Im not gonna lie, I loved my instant coffee made my by electric kettle. Not all instant coffees are equal, just like not every coffee bean is equal. 
How I fixed the issue: once the ready light went off as my coffee was bring dispensed, I turned the knob back to on so the water heats up again. Then I turn the knob back to dispense once the water is ready.
Bottom line, im kinda disappointed.

Only great for espresso

De'Longhi

Good things first: I love how the machine looks, I like that it's a boiler machine because it can heat up your cups and portafilter, the temperature of the coffee that comes out is just right and the espresso looks great.

However, the coffee has a horrible plastic taste and smell. I followed the manual for my first use, rinsed the water tank and flushed the machine but my first coffee came out with that plastic smell. After the next few uses kept coming out with that weird taste, I flushed the machine again and gave the tank a thorough wash, the plastic smell and taste was fainter but persisted. I can only assume it's the water tank because every time I open the container I smell the same thing.
After a couple of uses I attempted to clean the portafilter and noticed some stains inside that won't come off that weren't there before my first use.

It's a shame because everything in the machine works well, but the cheap materials, especially the taste left by the water tank in the coffee, makes the experience underwhelming. If De'Longhi addresses these issues in the future, I would recommend getting this machine.

Great machine but bad materials

Trying out the De'Longhi EC3120 espresso maker a had two major problems:
1. It was very difficult to take out the coffee filter from the filter holder. During this "process" I broke two fingernails. 
2. After finishing the espresso, the filter was still full of water and the first time it happend it was a total mess. I tried to wait 10-15 minutes, but it didn't help.
I know that De'Longhi is a "solid" espresso maker but it looks that their more affordable models (I'm retired on  fixed income) might have major issues and I was very disappointed to have to return it.

Disappointed

I bought 2, 1 for us and 1 for a rental, attempted about 4 times to try and get a good coffee and it has always been weak.  The secret apparently is how hard you tamper the coffee so tried different pressures without success.  Can't figure design out as would appear that the coffee does not filter through, rather around.

Didn't work for me

I bought this because it was on sale, and I would like to make my own coffee/ latte/ cappuccino during my day off. However this always leaks when i put it at the on position, and also the steamer is very weak. it takes a while to steam up the milk for your latte. lastly the handle just cracked today, after approximate 15time of usage.
