De'Longhi

Great little machine. If you use the pressurized baskets, it's easy to make good espresso, especially for milk based drinks like lattes and cappuccinos, since the steam is strong. If you want to get into advanced mode, and get into the work of making really good espresso, it will do what any single boiler machine will do, and the next one up in price is $450. If it had PID temperature control and low pressure pre-infusion, like the Breville Bambino, it would cost at least $300. (The Bambino does not use a boiler to heat the water. I tried the Bambino and didn't see any improvement, but I didn't work with it very long). If it also had pressure control it would cost you maybe $ 400.
To get into advanced mode you will need a good grinder - a good manual one will run you at least $60, an electric one at least $160.
All the Delonghi ecp 32xx, 34xx, 36xx, and Stiloso machines have the same internals so the difference in price is due to cosmetics and plastic content on the covers. I bought the ecp 3630 ( all stainless ) for $149 when it was on sale. I think it's $190 - 200 now: the prices fluctuate alot.
Finally, It's a wonderful hobby, and coffee this rich is really a treat. Just be sure and descale your machine periodically to keep it running properly. And if you go off into advanced mode, be patient with yourself. It takes time, but there are so many good resources on-line, tomscoffeecorner.com in particular.

It work perfect for my version of Starbucks iced white chocolate mocha and it has literally paid itself off in the last week.

This is my second one. My first one lasted 3 years and a move of 1000 miles. Use it twice daily. Easy to clean. Easy to use. Only takes up a small area. I fit a coffee cup on mine so I can make a latte

Love my lattes

I was not willing to spend $500 for an espresso machine. This was on sale and met all my expectations. I don't think I will be using my coffee maker anymore.

Great machine for the $

Learning curve not difficult at all, just need a separate grinder for fresh coffee or buy already ground coffee, but less fresh. The sceal is left strong at first so turning the knob is very difficult at first, almost feels like we were about to break the machine to get it on, but after three or four coffees, it works great and makes great cappuccino. We thought it especially for cappuccino and a lot of comments are specific about bubbles not being perfect and so on... well, we enjoy it left a bit, especially with oat milk, but cow milk is also great. The brother is extremely noisy, but not so bad after learning how to use it properly... not all the way to the bottom of the milk, keep it towards the top for a bit less noise, turn it off once signal is turned off and wait for it to appear again... overall, turn it off once signal is turned off and wait for it to appear again. Considering the price of this one vs others, I am giving 5 stars. Could be less noisy, could be a bit more solid built (a lot of plastic), but overall after one month of use and about 30 cappucinos made, very happy!

Happy cappucino fan

We like it. We just would like more information on how to use it.

Information

I would have given it a five start if the screw handle isn't so hard to push. If you put it all the way to the center, it's gonna be very difficult to unscrew it.

This machine disappointed me from the first. After seeing a whitish substance coming out of it at the initial use I was not convinced. How was I to know if all of this had been released?
I bought this because it was made out of stainless steel. No, it is made out of plastic colored gray.
The plastic taste in the coffee was too apparent. My bladder and kidneys also let know the same. The water reservoir reeked of plastic although the material is supposed to be safe for food usage. The smell did not dissipate over time.
So the bottom line. What we eat and drink matters. I disposed of it and bought a stainless steel French press and added it to my glass hot water heater and stainless steel frother.
The result showed a complete reversal of kidney and bladder pain and a great cup of coffee.

An Unfortunate Purchase

We followed the directions and attempted the process three or more times. The machine always leaked cold water from the bottom of the machine each time we tried to run water through it. We will be returning this espresso machine.
