I need something that will work every time and fast!  I pair it up with a 9ah flexvolt battery so I never run out of juice. A Tekton flip socket set rounds out the kit for almost any tire change in just minutes!  People are always impressed when I whip this beast out and it makes quick work of any lug nut thrown at it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this recently as an alternative to the frustration, awkwardness and complexity of using various wrenches and brackets to remove my commercial mower blades. I am blown away. Not only does it save me all that hassle and strain, not only is it more than enough power to remove the blade bolts, it is so powerful and QUICK about it that I don't even have to brace the blades. I just put the impact wrench on the bolt and slightly mash the trigger.  A second later, viola!! Bolt loosened. Every time. You have another winner with this one Dewalt :)

Amazing torque!

Is an ironworker a goose this impact as well as the 899 on a regular basis. I like the 894 because it is light and Compact and I can carry it while I'm up on the steel it does a great job tightening down bolts in areas where it's hard to get a wrench. I'm actually getting ready to buy my third one the anvil snapped on me however I got 4 years out of this one and considering what my tools go through that is way above average for power Tools.

Great tool use it all the time

This tool has nowhere near the torque specified. It's probably at 60-70 %. I've often found that it does not have power neither to loosen wheel nuts, or to loosen bolts (1/2 inch and up) on cars for repairs. I think DeWalt is deliberately overstating the torque the machine produces. It is maybe 50 % more powerful than DCF887. 

DeWalt should either discontinue this model, or offer one that can compete in power with the new Milwaukee mid-range. In general this machine is relatively weak.

Good machine, but with overrated specs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Definitely a time saver. I'm a commercial electrician so we are always looking for time efficiency in our line of work.
Knocking out 1 1/2" holes in thick gauge metal girts 20' up off the floor was a plus for running conduit. Breaking bolts loose is another bonus. 
Every job is different so I'm finding more ways I can put this tool to work.

Power house

This tool was purchased due to it's rated 330lbs of force.  As I frequently work on Cars this tools should have been a time saver especially when removing tires. With a fully charged 5AH battery and the tool set at high it would not touch lug nuts torqued to 85lbs, I still have to loosen them with a wrench before hand. I have many DeWalt tools and this is the first of their products I would not recommend and doesn't live up to it's ratings.

Extremely disapointed

I bought this 1 day ago since I needed an impact, and it was not able to remove a harmonic ballencer bolt that was only torqued to 90 ftlbs. I had a fresh off the charger 4ah battery on it and it wouldn't budge it.
