DeWitt Single Net Excelsior Blanket is an erosion-control blanket made from curled aspen wood fibers designed to help manage soil movement on disturbed ground. I wanted to use this as erosion control on a slope. Bought  specifically since it had plastic screen on top that would lock in the mulch I was going to use. I think batting underneath is straw or something  biodegradable. 

In any event, Arrived quickly and easy to use. I stapled it down. Exactly what I expected/wanted.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are very excited to use the DeWitt Curlex I Single Excelsior Landscape Erosion Control Blanket for our yard this upcoming Spring! Our side yard is very slanted and rain has caused significant damage to it. It almost looks like a creek bank. The rain has pushed so much gravel and rocks down from our driveway, that the grass is inky coming up in patches. We will be laying down this erosion blanket and sewing some grass seeds so that our yard will be back beautiful again. We can't wait until spring gets here! Highly recommend!

Great For Yards!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have lived in our home for over 20 years and have always had an erosion problem due to excessive rain.  On top of the erosion the dog then runs that same track, and it just turns into a giant mud pit.  We layed down the DeWitt erosion control blanket and it has been absolutely perfect!  I never knew this existed and wish I had known sooner!  So simple to cut and place where you need it and is an easy solution if you have the same problem.

Exactly What We Needed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a semi-steep hill behind my house that has been eroding over time, so that is what I have intended for this landscaping blanket. I have heard that they work effectively, so I have high hopes, and keeping my fingers crossed. The blanket is very well made and was pretty easy to roll out. It covered a really good amount of ground. I would recommend using stakes with it to hold it in place, which is what I did. So far I think this is a really good product!

The material used and the way it was manufactured made the rolled layers stick together; it made it difficult to separate the rolled layers.  It is much thicker than anticipated which made it more difficult to cut or trim

Germination or Not?

If the ground is worked up, good seeds and the stars are aligned you can grow grass.

Erosion matting

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had an erosion issue on the side of our house for months now, and I am so excited to try this product. Due to the winter and the ground freezing, we won't be able to use it until spring.

The mat itself seems fine. However, it was next to impossible to unroll the first 30 feet on both rolls. I had to cut across the roll constantly because the monofilament line holding the mat onto the plastic grid would not unroll. After apps. 1/3 of the roll it was no longer tangled. What should have been an easy task turned out to be frustrating and time consuming. I'd try another brand next time.u
