The Desert Spring DS3200 Rotary Disc Humidifier is a whole house furnace-mounted humidifier designed to reduce maintenance and improve water efficiency.  No clogged sponge pads or metal screens to replace! No more wasted water!  The key to the Desert Spring humidifier is its unique and patented rotary disc technology which makes it 100% water efficient, extremely energy efficient, and easy to maintain. Unlike competitors' systems, the Desert Spring furnace humidifier does not use a sponge pad or difficult-to-clean metal screen. Not only do these components need to be replaced regularly at significant cost, these surfaces are prone to mineral build-up that reduces air flow and ultimately lowers humidity output.  The patented Desert Spring disc assembly can be easily cleaned and reused every season! The heart of Desert Spring's innovative design is a patented cylinder of ring-shaped, flat plastic discs which rotate through the water reservoir. As the discs are rotated by the small motor (completely silent), their vinyl-record-like textured surfaces pick up a thin layer of water which immediately and quickly evaporates in the air flow of your forced air furnace for distribution in the home. The Desert Spring doesn't need a continuous flow of water like most flow-through humidifier models. This can reduce water waste by literally thousands of gallons per year!  Independent testing by ETL SEMKO, comparing the three leading flow-through humidifiers in the North American market to the Desert Spring furnace humidifier indicated that the flow-through models wasted an average of 6,354 gallons of water annually - that's enough water to fill your bath tub every day for a the whole year!  The rotary disc technology also reduces the risk of bacteria and mold growth by preventing water from stagnating as is common in traditional drum furnace humidifier models. This makes the Desert Spring a good choice for individuals with allergies or other air quality sensitivities.  The Desert Spring is made with modern, high quality non-corrosive materials.
