I provide live in home care to my elderly sister. She uses between 5 to 6 attends a day. On average. Without this thing, the odor and bacteria in the bathroom and her bedroom would be unbearable! Its a bit difficult to shove the larger sized attends down there, but we've put old curtain rods next to the both of them and use the rods to get the diapers down and the lid closed so the carbon filter can do its job.

This item is a godsend!

Diaper Genie has been a lifesaver for diaper changes. It locks in odors really well and makes disposal quick and easy. Sturdy, convenient, and a must-have for everyday use.

I was nervous about purchasing a diaper genie since I had received mixed reviews about them, but I absolutely love mine! I only have to change it ever few days and I never smell the dirty diapers that I put in it. I even purchased a second one to keep at my in-laws house for when we visit them!

Diaper Genie

We recieved the diaper genie for my baby shower. We originally asked for just a diaper genie, but they got us the 2 for the price of 1 pack which had an original and an elite. I am so so glad we got the elite. We use the original when we travel to grandparents, and it is so much harder to use. When you have a poopy diaper, having the foot pedal to open it versus pushing it through the tiny opening is so much more appealing.

Elite is amazing.

I got the blue diaper genie elite for my baby shower a few months ago. Since then, I've been having troubles with the foot peddle, opening the top to put the diapers in. My husband has fixed it several times and we still have the same problem. 

But other then that, I wouldn't know what I'd do without the diaper genie. (When it is working)

Amazing, but....

I bought this for my son's room and it works- the draw back is it smells horrible before it is full! The more full the pail gets the more I smell so when it is a fresh bag and not many diapers no worries and it hold the smell. I only smell the diapers when I open it and for a few minutes after. I did purchase the air filter carbon things recently and I haven't really noticed a difference.

Does the job

The internal doors that open upon stepping on the foot pedal broke after a few months. Not that it matters, they are cheap enough that you can buy another. But I figure Playtex makes their money off the refills. So I would have expected it to last longer.

Internal door breaks.

At first i absolutly loved my diaper genie! I had no problems until about 6 months and one of the flaps broke. We had to shove the diaper through one flap it was kind of a pain. We kept the genie anyway because it still kept the bugs out. Now 6 months later (1 year) the other flap has broken. We now have to lift the flaps manually and slide the diaper through. I'm not happy! I hope improvements will be made or I refuse to buy another.

Doesn't hold up :(

Poor quality...the clip falls off again n again...and the smell escapes out ...very disappointed
