Quality build. Did exactly what I wanted it to. So here's my application. I wanted to record the audio from a SACD layer of a disc because it had some different audio content than the CD layer. My computer and SACD player have different connections.

SACD > Digital to Analog Audio Converter (using coax cable) > Stereo RCA cables to 3.5mm jack adapter > computer line in.

I was able to capture the audio to my computer smoothly.

The Monoprice Digital to Analog is the perfect component allowing me to use an older streaming Apple TV (digital audio out) as a streaming input to my vintage Kenwood Receiver (RCA stereo Analog inputs). Easy to set up, reliable to use. Thanks for another great product!

Digital to Analog Audio Converter allowed me to add streaming input to my vintage audio receiver

I received the converter and coaxial cables (ordered separately/cables do NOT come with the converter). The quality of the product is instantly visually obvious. Instruction were extremely clear. I connected the unit and instantly had fantastic, clean crisp, audio from the speakers I had connected to my receiver. I was very excited because I had been trying, for a long time, to get audio through my receiver but could not because the receiver only had analog inputs. This converter made it happen!  I highly recommend this converter and Monoprice, they are an outstanding company.

Digital to analog converter

Works great.  When I first set it up nothing happened.  Tried several times to get it work.  So turned off everything, TV, converter, connections.  Hooked everything up and turned on the TV and started working.  
 I use it to hook the digital out of TV to the input on my Monoprice board, so that I can use the big screen for karaoke and the sound through Bose Towers.
 Computer is hooked to TV by the HDMI input.

Monoprice Digital to Audio Converter

Very pleased with converter.  I would have submitted the review earlier, but , through no fault of Monoprice I did not receive the item because of a 3 week delay in transfer of he item from UPS to USPS for whatever reason with no explanation.  USPS delivered the device to me on the day it was received from UPS.

Works as advertised

Using it to link wireless headphone to digital output works great you need to order coble also. Delivered on time

I bought this to convert the toslink optical output on my Panasonic TV to analog. This did not work, I assume the output is not PCM and there does not seem so be a way to change this in the TV menu. I did a test the the Patriot box office toslink output. This does work sand the menu supports changing the format. This unit already has analog output. So I confirmed the unit works, but it doesn't work for converting my Panasonic TV digital to analog stereo. There is not a way to determine the digital signal without trying it out...

Works, but not for the purpose I need it for.

I do currently use this, but I forget for which unit. Might be the AppleTV or the other, older AppleTV. Either way, it provided a thin sound on the Google Audio Chromecast optical output, but it works great for dialogue and podcasts so it is there on the older dedicated AppleTV where I use it.

Thin

Works as expected except when a computer turns off the screen, the audio becomes a hiss. I assume this noise is coming from the power supply. The device it silent when the video signal is present and there's no audio, so it should be able to be silent when there's no video. It's quiet enough that I've gotten accustomed to it and I'm ignoring it but others may not be happy.

Great unless video sleeps

Does the job but introduces some noise in the signal to the speakers. If you are not an audiophile or have inexpensive speakers you probably won't notice it.

Does not work with my tv. therefore cannot supply a valid review of performance ... nor also cannot give a legitimate reccomendation to anyone.
