The Hisense Roku TV I bought only had Optical (SPDIF/Toslink) Audio output.. I needed one of these to convert the TV's optical audio output to my amp's Analog R/L RCA inputs.  Works just fine..  The TV had a USB port, which I used to power this converter.   All works great!

The "Rybozen 192KHz Analog Audio Converter DAC SPDIF Coaxial Optical Convert to L/R RCA, Toslink Optical to 3.5mm Jack Audio Adapter for PS4 HD DVD Home Cinema Systems" 
It worked perfectly to connect a 12 year old 52" Phillips TV to an even older 1992 Pioneer stereo surround sound amplifier with old school floor speakers, so now all the space zapping sounds and dino roars shake the floors in my old house.

Made My Old Equipment Work Together Like New

It actually worked. Here's what to know: (1) Remove the tiny glass-like protective caps from the so-called "Optical" wire. (2) "Optical" has nothing to do with optics, visuals, or pictures. It has to do with fiber-optics as in digital vs. analog.  The foregoing should spare the confusion caused by all the manuals of products like this is.

Took seconds to set-up and completely resolved the audio connectivity issue between my new TV and older stereo receiver.

Works exactly as described

easy enough to install, i like another reviewer only got a machine gun squealing sound so i was just going to throw it in the garbage, it only cost like $19.69 to my door but the wife said she'll return it for the money if she get's to spend it, i said have at it!

maybe i got a bad one?

Did not work for me.  Signal carried a loud hum using both the supplied optical cord and also a much better one that I had on hand.  From a new Samsung TV to a Bose Wave radio using a high quality RCA cord, I could not eliminate the noise.  Also, there was no USB power cord.  Just an adapter for a wall outlet.

Entirely disappointing
