Our five year old grandson was completely thrilled to receive the "Flysenhower" for Christmas this year. He has played with it almost from waking hours to bedtime story bringing it with him to wake us up to play each morning, which we gladly do (thank you Walmart.) The articulated deck did originally cause him some difficulty when closing it, however after helping him a few times and each time indicating the position of the locking tabs and the alignment of the edges, he now can open and close the deck on his own. One suggestion, the carrier actually is sized best for the lighter weight and medium sized model airplanes that come individually in the cardboard and soft plastic packaging rather than the larger and heavier die cast models that come in the hard plastic boxes. The lighter planes will also have a hex shaped hole on the bottom so that you may also attach the plane to the rotating carrier tower arm. All sizes of planes will work, however of the three sizes of planes, the middle size seems to be best suited to the size of the carrier. Just look for the hex hole on the underside of the plane and they are individually packaged not as a set, and not in the hard plastic box.

I read the reviews, and decided to go ahead and get this for my 3 1/2 year old since the price was right. He has been playing with it ever since we got it home and even went to bed with it. Yes it's awkward to close, but that's my only complaint. Basically his Planes sat lined up on the shelf and he would only play with Cars. Now that he has this, the whole fleet is flying around all day long and play is being had :) He can store at least 4-5 Planes with the "lid" closed, so it makes for nice storage as well. A great toy.

The Disney Planes aircraft Carrier Play Set was a good deal through Walmart.com. I was impressed that this Carrier Set was identical to the more expensive Yorkie Set and was cheaper. My grandson had several of the Disney Planes and had asked for the aircraft carrier. Found it online Walmart and had it shipped to the store. Picked it up within 3 days and he was elated!!!

A delight for my grandson!

My son loves it. However since the quality is so poor he can't close it for himself and the 2 parts that come off he can't get them back on. To close you have to line it up just right and gently snap into place. It's to hard for even his 8 year old brother to close. Even though it is poorly made I would buy it again because it has been hours of entertainment already. Would pay more though for one that is a better quality.

A big hit!

I am glad I got this on sale for $15. It definitely wasn't worth the original price if almost $30. This toy says ages 3 and up. I can barely line up the deck to close it let alone my son. It is a cheap toy. You have to apply all the stickers yourself. I was really excited about this toy but it fell far short of my expectations. If it had been preprinted with the colors so you could use it in the tub and if it had been easier to close I would give the $30. I get that it's not meant for tub play but seriously?! What kid doesn't want to take his SHIP into water?
